CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The weather system currently enveloping portions of east and southeast Wyoming will bring with it up to 2 inches of snowfall for the Cheyenne area over the next 24 hours. By this weekend, fortunately, a warming trend will take over.

Today’s high is 42 degrees, with snow most likely falling before 2 p.m. According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, less than half an inch of snowfall will accumulate.

By tonight, when the low will fall to 18 degrees, chances at precipitation will increase up to 80%. By then, an estimated 1–2 inches of snow will begin stacking up. Winds will blow consistently at 10–15 mph all day.

This current system will bleed into parts of Friday, where another half-inch of snow is estimated to be left, especially in the morning. Temps will be lower than today, however, with a high of just 29 degrees. Friday evening will see no likelihood of snow.

By the weekend, temps will begin climbing back up into the 40s and 50s and won’t stop there. According to the NWS in Cheyenne, Monday will likely have a high of 63 degrees.
