CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Following a week of unpredictable weather, some normalcy will be returning to Cheyenne this coming week. The only exceptions are extremely strong winds today and some snow Friday.

Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 63 degrees. It probably won’t feel like that, though, as 25–30 mph winds in the afternoon are expected. According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, a few gusts could blow upwards of 45 mph. High temps and fast winds prompted the station to warn that fire conditions are in place in the very far north of the its forecast territory south of the North Platte River.

Tonight will get down to 30 degrees, but the wind won’t be going anywhere. Winds tonight could still crest at 30 mph, but they should calm down some after midnight.

Tomorrow won’t be as warm as today, but winds should be somewhat calmer. That isn’t to say that winds will be calm, though, as they could still gust at 30 mph. Most of the day, winds will blow at 15–20 mph.

Wednesday and Thursday should see a return to gentler breezes while maintaining those warm weekly temps. Thursday night, however, snow is back on the forecast. Rain before midnight will turn to snow in the early hours of Friday, plaguing nearly all of the coming day with snow, a high of 40 degrees and wind.
