CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office has announced an initiative in which a range of in-person programs for inmates will be introduced starting next week.
These programs, facilitated by nearly 20 volunteers, will include Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Religious Services, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, Fresh Start Journaling and quilting. The volunteers have undergone background checks and briefings to prepare for their roles.
Starting February, the sheriff’s office will expand its offerings to include a résumé writing workshop, interview skill workshop, mock interviews and courses on overcoming barriers. These additions aim to equip inmates with essential skills for their reintegration into society.
The sheriff’s office continues to seek volunteers for additional programs, including those addressing domestic violence, with more planned for the future.
