CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Briana Egbert, an ambitious eighth-grade student at Carey Junior High, has been recognized as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Jan. 8.
Egbert stood out to the selection committee due to her remarkable academic achievements and strong leadership qualities. Known for her hard work and dedication, she has set her sights high, aiming to pursue a career at NASA.
Egbert’s commitment extends beyond the classroom. She wakes up at 4 a.m. daily to participate in ROTC activities at East High, including Marksmanship, Stellar Xplorers and Color Guard. Her punctuality and positive attitude despite the early hours underscore her focus and determination.
Apart from her academic pursuits, Egbert enjoys swimming, robotics and participating in her 4-H Club, where she shows sheep. These activities reflect her diverse interests and well-rounded personality.
Acknowledging the impact of mentorship, Egbert credits Col. Christopher Johnson as her favorite teacher, admiring his strong leadership and dedication to student success.
