CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization and Laramie County School District 1 will hold open houses at Cheyenne’s high schools next week to share and receive feedback on the draft Safe Routes to School Plan update.

The Safe Routes to School Plan identifies solutions to improve air quality around schools, ease traffic congestion and improve children’s health and academic performance. The plan addresses community growth by updating existing plans, adding new schools and evaluating increased traffic. It will prioritize safety improvement projects that are site specific and identify safe routes.

The open houses will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the following locations and days:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 10 at South High School’s Commons Room 001
  • Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Central High School’s Commons Room 175
  • Thursday, Sept. 12 at East High School’s Cafeteria Room 236
