CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A new team of trustees will soon be on the Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees.
Trustees will be serving new roles on the LCSD1 Board of Trustees, too. At their upcoming Dec. 2 meeting, board members will be electing new officers for the chair, vice chair, treasurer and clerk roles, according to Mary Quast, the district’s director of community relations. The current positions are as follows:
- Chair: Tim Bolin
- Vice chair: Christy Klaassen
- Clerk: Alicia Smith
- Treasurer: Brittany Ashby
- Assistant Clerk: Brooke Humphrey
Monday’s meeting also welcomed new Trustee Marilyn Burden. Board members elected Burden to take over the South Triad trustee position at their Nov. 4 meeting. Burden is taking over the role formerly held by Trustee Susan Edgerton, who resigned in October.
Barb Cook will join the board Dec. 2 after voters supported her in the 2024 general election. Trustees Ashby and Smith won their bids for reelection.
Apart from the new trustees, board members appointed Trustee Ashby as the new Area 1 director for the Wyoming School Board Association on Monday night. The term lasts for another two years. Ashby is taking over the term for Trustee Tim Bolin, who failed to gain reelection to the LCSD1 school board.
The state board association’s mission is to “educate, support, and inspire school board members to strengthen public education for all Wyoming students,” per the organization’s website.
