CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Roman Johnson, a seventh-grade student at Johnson Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Dec. 9.
Johnson was chosen by the committee for his kindness, positive attitude and dedication to helping others. He enjoys learning about history in world geography class and is always willing to help his classmates. He is known for being inclusive and supportive, especially with students in the behavior program.
Johnson works hard in the weight room, focusing on his goal of joining the Marine Corps. Outside of school, he enjoys playing video games and listening to punk rock, with the Misfits being his favorite band.
Johnson selected Ash Vanderdrink as his favorite teacher because he appreciates her positive attitude and support in English class, which he finds challenging. He also enjoys that they share common interests in gaming and music.
