CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Charleigh Mellish, a senior at South High School, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Jan. 6.
Mellish was chosen by the committee for exemplifying South’s core values of honor, enthusiasm, responsibility and determination.
She maintains a 3.96 GPA while challenging herself in taking Advanced Placement and concurrent-enrollment classes. She is also an active member of the Leadership Team at South, where she serves as a mentor and role model for younger students in the South Triad.
Mellish is a three-sport athlete, participating in volleyball, basketball and softball. She embodies the values of leadership and teamwork both in and out of the classroom. Following graduation, she plans to attend Hastings College, where she will continue to play softball and pursue a degree.
Mellish selected Regan Dulaney as her favorite teacher because she holds her accountable and encourages her to be a better student.
