CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Kenneth Zabriskie, an eighth-grade student at Carey Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Jan. 13.
He was chosen by the committee because of his kindness and consistent efforts to go above and beyond. Zabriskie has maintained a 4.0 GPA while enrolled in all-honors classes during his time at Carey. He is involved in many extracurricular activities, including Mathcounts, cross-country, wrestling and track.
Following high school graduation, Zabriskie wants to attend the Air Force Academy to study engineering and become a pilot.
Zabriskie selected Tonya Moore as his favorite teacher because she has been encouraging while teaching him math. Moore also introduced him to Mathcounts and the state math competition.
