CASPER, Wyo. — A Pennsylvania rally for former president and 2024 Republican nominee Donald Trump ended in chaos Saturday, with noises believed to be gunshots taking place just minutes in. As Trump was rushed off the stage by Secret Service members, blood could reportedly be seen on the side of his head.

Footage shows Trump crouch after loud popping sounds rang out, followed by screams from the audience as the Secret Service sprang into action to move Trump to safety.

Despite having blood on him, Trump appeared uninjured as he raised a fist to supporters while being hurried into a Secret Service vehicle. According to reporting by the New York Times, Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said in a release that Trump is “fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.”

Gov. Mark Gordon released a statement Saturday evening.

“President Trump, his family and the families of the victims of today’s shooting are in our prayers,” Gordon said. “We are thankful for the professional and quick response of the Secret Service. This is truly a sad day for our Republic, and should serve as a wake-up call for all Americans to express disagreement without resorting to violence.”
