CASPER, Wyo. — The Denver International Airport is experiencing delays due to a worldwide Microsoft outage.
Update:
“Due to third party technical issues, various airlines are impacted,” they posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, early Friday morning. “Please check with your carrier before leaving for DEN. Economy lots are experiencing ticket dispensing issues and are currently closed. Garages remain open.” Passengers on Frontier flights were stranded overnight and early Friday because of the outage, reported Denver media.
Airports around the world are experiencing delays due to outages of Microsoft and CrowdStrike, the New York Times said. The outage also affected hospitals, retailers and some 911 services.
Other Microsoft services such as Teams video conferencing were also experiencing some outages, they said. The Times said the outage appeared to be caused by an update to the CrowdStrike software.
According to Reuters, the underlying cause for the outage had been fixed as of 6 a.m. on Friday, but the residual impact of the outage could continue to affect some customers for a while.
