Melvin Floyd Hoffman ‘Mel’, 62, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019, after a difficult battle with cancer. Mel was born June 3, 1957, in Farmington, New Mexico, but was a lifelong resident of Casper, Wyoming.
For many years Mel spent his summers outdoors prospecting and his winters indoors rebuilding or fixing computers. He enjoyed nature and was an avid floriculturist. Mel’s flower beds were beautiful and amazing.
Melvin was extremely loved by his family and friends. He was always willing to share his love by helping others. Mel had a knack of understanding human nature and a cold hard charisma of stating the truth.
Mel is survived by his mother, Freda Yoder; two brothers, Robert ‘Bob’ Hoffman and Leonard ‘Len’ Hoffman; two daughters Vanessa Johnston and Genie Osburn; nephew, Jake; and nieces, Jenny and Kayla; and six grandchildren, Ben, Anna, Lindsey, Tristen, Steven, and Makenna.
Mel is preceded in death by his father, Roline Jacob Hoffman; brother, Larry Hoffman; nephew, Bobby Hoffman; and niece, Pam Pivek.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2019, Bustard’s Funeral Home, 600 CY Ave., Casper, Wyoming,

Paul Ackerly: June 29, 1949 ~ November 24, 2019 (age 70)
Husband, father, brother, son and friend. All who were lucky enough to have him cross their timeline were graced with his gentle nature and wisdom. A man who was reserved with his words, always saving his voice for when it was truly needed. A person who lived an authentic life.
Growing up in Atlanta he embraced taking care of the people who mattered to him, always keeping a connection with friends and family. He ventured to the Triangle C Ranch in Dubois, Wy as a young man and worked summers learning how to be a cowboy. Finding his home to be in the wind of Wyoming he chose to stay there and attended Casper College where he met the love of his life, Linda. They married and had two children, Ernie and Elaine. His fatherly nature was never limited to just his own offspring, taking many of their friends and other children under his wing helping to shape their lives for the better by teaching his skills in master woodworking. Many of them, including his son Ernie, went on to have careers in construction. Paul’s impact will be felt for many generations. Not just through the skills of the trade, but of the ethics and empathy that always came with them.
Paul’s talent can be seen in countless households in the form of magnificent staircases and fireplaces. In a more public setting his skill can be witnessed at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he donated most of the woodwork to make his wife smile and feel joy. A goal throughout their life together.
He spent countless hours making his and his wife’s dream ranch a reality on Hat Six Road. Fighting against the wind to mend the fences and bob around in his tractor to keep the roads passable.
Paul is preceded in death by his father Ernest, mother Mary Ella, in-laws, Madeline and Chuck, his love of over 50 years Linda and his son Ernest.
Lovingly remembered by his daughters Elaine and Shelly, sister MaryNell, brother Alan, grandsons Darren, Dillon, Colton, Tyler and Hunter, Uncle Bill, many nieces, nephew, extended family and dear friends.
While he has left us in the physical space his grace and empathy will forever be a part of who we are and we are better for it.
Paul passed peacefully Nov, 24th 2019 at Mountain Plaza with his sister holding his hand.
Patrick Gerald Sullivan joined his bride in Heaven on November 25, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 19, 1951 to William and Barbara (Taylor) Sullivan. He was the middle child of three boys.
Pat grew up in Linch, Wyoming and attended school there and in Midwest, Wyoming, graduating in 1969. He joined the Army after graduation and served in Vietnam in 70-71 as an SP4. Upon returning to the states he married his childhood schoolmate, Glenda Gale (Bingham) Sullivan. She preceded him in death in 2004 after 29 years of marriage.
Pat and Glenda had two children, Billie and Jason. Pat worked in the Midwest oil fields for 33+ years, retiring in 2013 from Anadarko.
Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family and close friends. He was an avid collector of guns and loved spending a morning out shooting.
Pat is survived by his children Billie (Greg) Velasquez and Jason (Carly) Sullivan, granddaughters Alexis and Kylie Sullivan, brother Kenneth (Cathy) Sullivan, his beloved dog Sully and numerous nieces and nephews.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda; brother, Michael Sullivan; nephew, Kevin Sullivan; grandparents, parents William and Barbara Sullivan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Newcomer Casper Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be held at Glenrock Cemetery. A reception with stories and beer will follow services at Patrick’s home.
John Jay “Johnny Jay” Wise: 1954 – 2019
John Jay Wise kicked the bucket 15 November 2019.
Johnny was born 23 July 1954 to John and Phyllis Murphy Wise in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up and attended schools in Mount Healthy. He was the middle child of five siblings. He graduated Mt. Healthy High School in 1972 and promptly entered active duty in the U.S. Air Force, with service during and beyond the end of the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1976.
In June 1977 John moved to Utah and worked as a carpenter and pursued his life-long interest in most things outdoors. In 1980 Johnny moved to Logan, Utah to attend school at Utah State University’s College of Natural Resources, graduating in 1985. It was in Logan where he met, and later married Diane Behl. That union lasted 20 years and produced his much beloved sons, Jack and Adam.
Johnny worked varied jobs and occupations while in Utah, including 10 years as a reporter and editor at The Herald Journal newspaper in Logan. He was a skilled carpenter and left his mark in many houses and businesses in Cache Valley, including the Cache County Courthouse and the Thatcher Mansion.
After five years wandering around in Utah, Colorado, Montana and Arizona John took a job with the US Forest Service and moved to Douglas, Wyoming in 2009. Pleased he found stable and satisfying employment, his next quest was exploring new environs. And woman. He’d been told that in The Equality State there is a woman behind every tree – at least the trees that had not been cut down to build snow fences. What seemed at the time a far-fetched dream came true on Johnny’s 56th birthday, when he met a young and lovely woman at a Casper coffee shop. An internet dating site provided their initial introduction. John and Sue were married 5 May 2019. Their loving relationship continued until Johnny’s death.
Johnny’s siblings include sisters, Phyllis Lynn Wise McDaniel of Jamestown, Ohio; the late Peggy Ann Wise; Mary Kathleen Wise Haussler and Tracy Alan Wise, both of Cincinnati. He is survived by his sons, Jack and Adam, and wife, Susan Marie.
