Stefanie C. Olbekson

Stefanie C. Olbekson, 49, of Cheyenne passed away on May 22, 2020 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. She was born March 22, 1971, in Cheyenne, WY to Harold (deceased) and Phyllis Olbekson.

Her children were the light of her life. Stefanie would light up any room with her presence; always brightening people’s days with her unforgettable laugh, which was infectious to anyone around her. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid Saints fan and her shoe collection was something to be admired.

She leaves behind two children, Morgan Miller of North Carolina and Seth Miller of Hawaii; mother, Phyllis Olbekson of Cheyenne; siblings, Linda Sue Olbekson-Coulson-Rottmann of Germany, Michael Olbekson of Colorado and Joshua (Elizabeth) Olbekson of Colorado; Grandmother’s Ida Valerio of Cheyenne and Ann Olbekson of Iowa; nephews Dany Coulson, Philipp Coulson and Dominik Rottmann all of Germany, Cortez Olbekson of Colorado; niece Deja Olbekson of Colorado; great-nephews Fynn Coulson, Mason Coulson and Liam Coulson all of Germany; King Olbekson-Galvan of Colorado; great-niece Malia Coulson of Germany and many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom love her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Olbekson; and grandfather’s Eliu Valerio and Norman Olbekson.

A celebration of life will take place privately for family and friends.


Richard N. “Dick” Cordes

Richard N. “Dick” Cordes, 86, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away at home on Friday, May 22, 2020.

Dick was born March 4, 1934 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Richard M. and Vera (Hodgeman) Cordes.  

Dick attended South Dakota School of Mines and served in the United States Army in Germany during the Cold War. 

Dick moved to Cheyenne in 1972 with his wife, Shirley, and three children.  He worked for Taylor Pontiac and Buick, owned Dick’s Hobbies and Crafts, worked at Tyrrell Chevrolet, and finished his career as supply specialist with the State of Wyoming Highway Department. 

Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley. He is survived by his children, David (Suzanne) Cordes, Mary (Mitch) Lucas and Kari (Blayne) Cundall; grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Long, Chris (Megan) Long, Kyra Cundall, Nicole (Joe Babcock) Long, Connor (Rachel) Cundall, Mandy Cordes, Sarah Cordes and Zach Cordes; and  great-grandchildren, Ash, Shailee, and Lorelai.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.  A private interment will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.


Joe Hernandez

Joe Hernandez, 88 of Cheyenne passed away on May 23rd. He was born in Morrill, NE on March 22, 1932 to Jubencio and Amalia Hernandez.
He married the love of his life Gloria Hernandez on May 24th, 1958.
Joe retired from the Postal Service after 31 years of service.

He had an unwavering faith in God, a strong devotion to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a deep love for his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Robert Hernandez of Cheyenne, Monica (Pete) Garcia of Colorado Springs, Joey (Tammy) Hernandez, Gerald Hernandez, Patrick Hernandez, Liz (Rodger Harder)Hernandez, Derrick (Jamie Kidd)Hernandez, Ray Lewis all of Cheyenne. Grandchildren, Danielle, Anna, Sandra, Gregary, Angela, Brianna, Justine, Jazmine, Jade, Krystina, Jemini, Bret, Bryson, Brayden. Great Grandchildren, Amiya, Ayden, Anthony, Aziel, Ayla, Aliyana, Judah.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, daughter Joan, sons Gary and David, his parents, brothers and sisters. Public visitation will start on Wednesday at 9AM and go until 3PM at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Vigil for the deceased will be held on Wednesday at 6PM at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday at 10AM. Interment will be at Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers those who wish may contribute to St Joseph’s food pantry.
