Robert A. Fife, Sr., 69, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away May 26, 2020, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Robert was born July 27, 1950 in Gary, Indiana, son of the late Donald and Patricia (Hertaus) Fife.
Robert served in the United States Air Force for four years at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne. He worked as a police officer for the City of Cheyenne for 20 years and then served as a booking clerk for the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in December 2018. His love for law enforcement led to his writing a book about the history of the Cheyenne Police Department. He loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He also loved his two dogs, Shelby and Lacy.
Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Fife; children, Christine Fife and Robert A. (Andrea) Fife, Jr.; siblings, Donald Fife and Patty Peterson; and four grandsons, Joey Fife, Bobby Fife, Cody Fife and Matt Keeler.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold “Skipper” Gielow, Jr.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, Winfried “Fred” Erwin Liebe, loving father, grandfather and husband passed away at age 81. Fred was born December 19, 1938 in Berlin Germany to Erwin and Ella (Studde) Liebe. He was educated in Germany. He married Sharron L. Wetzler August 19 1962. They raised two daughters, Heidi Ann and Diane.
Fred came to the United States in his early 20s and was drafted into service for the United States Army. He served his Army enlistment back in Germany as a linguist due to his knowledge of multiple languages. Upon his return to the United States, he obtained his US citizenship in 1968.
Fred was a Plumber, Pipefitter and Welder with Cheyenne Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 192. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason in Cheyenne Grand Lodge #1 A.F. & A.M., he received his 32nd Degree of the Scottish Rite in Wyoming Consistory #1. Fred was Shrine Clown in the Korein Temple AAONMS and a member of the Cheyenne Shrine Club. He was a member of the Cheyenne Moose Lodge #257 and the American Legion Post 6.
As an avid car enthusiast, Fred combined his talent as a machinist and love of antiques to restore vehicles and machines. He also loved firearms and enjoyed reloading his own ammunition.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Erwin Liebe, his mother Ella Liebe and his daughter Heidi Ann Kimsey. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Liebe, and his daughter Diane (Devin) Smith, Sister Ingrid Bresson, grandchildren Kyle Smith, Tyler Kimsey and Michaela Kimsey.
Services will be held later in the summer of 2020.
Douglas Muncy Owens, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away on May 260, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.
Doug was born in Cheyenne, grew up in Wyoming, and joined the United States Navy when he was 18 where he spent the next 20 years. He was stationed in several locations in the states, as well as a few years in Malta. One of the highlights of his career was serving two tours on the USS Midway and he was drawn back to the Midway after retirement attending many USS Midway reunions in San Diego. Doug retired from the Navy in 1974 and came back to Cheyenne where he spent the next 20 plus years at Wycon Chemical Company retiring in 1991. While working at Wycon, he attended Laramie County Community College at night and received an associates of business degree.
Doug married Dorothy Middleton in 1989 and they spent the next 20 years of retirement traveling the United States and many countries abroad. Doug enjoyed building a cabin in the mountains, gardening, and projects around the house. He also enjoyed old western movies on television because “the good guy always wins”. Doug was one of the “good guys” and he will be sorely missed by the many people he touched in his life.
Doug was one of the founding members of the Cheyenne Chapter of the Fleet Reserve Association and served a term as its President. He was very proud of his Navy service.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jessie Owens; his son, Scott Owens and step-son, Ryan Middleton; his step-son-in-law, John Mach; his ex-wife, Stella Owens; his brother, Donald Owens; and sisters, Helen Titus and Jean Pierce.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Middleton Owens; children, Julie Owens, Karen Vasey and Larry Owens; a step-daughter, Renée Middleton; a grandson, Gabriel Owens; and two step-granddaughters, Keely and Monica Middleton.
A memorial service will be Monday, June 1, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2222 Duff Avenue, Cheyenne at 10:00 a.m. The service will be livestreamed through Zoom at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88097333971. Please contact a family member or Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home for the meeting ID to be able to join the livestream prior to the service.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, or the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra.
Linda Marie Curran, 65, of Cheyenne, died on May 27, 2020 in Cheyenne.
