Susan Rosella Martinez

Susan Rosella Martinez, left this world on 1/23/21 in Cheyenne, WY.

She was born on 6/25/45 to Joseph and Rachel (Vigil) Salazar and was the sixth of eight children. Susan was raised and educated in Wheatland.

She had worked in nearly every restaurant as a cook in Wheatland and loved to play Bingo and she also enjoyed camping and fishing. Susan was a lifetime resident of Wheatland and was known by many people in her community.

She was preceded in death by two of her children, Delilah Trujillo and Michael Trujillo; both parents, Joseph and Rachel (Vigil) Salazar; her brother, Raymond Salazar; and her sisters, Julia Casteneda, Viola Lemus, and Annie Ortega.

Susan is survived by her two sons, Danny Trujillo and Frank Trujillo, both of Cheyenne; two brothers, Abel Salazar of Phoenix, AZ and David Salazar of Firestone, CO; her sister, Esther Nava of Wheatland;
ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Wheatland Cemetery.


Jessie L. Nevells

Jessie Nevells, 101, of Cheyenne passed away January 25, 2021 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 3, 1920 in Decatur, Alabama to Jessie and Maude Nevells.  He married Wynonia Jordon on December 24, 1960 in Cheyenne.  He was a WWII and Korean Conflict veteran, having serviced in the Army and Air Force, receiving the WWII Victory Meda,l European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and American Camp Medal . After his Air Force retirement, he worked another 20 years and retired from civil service.   He was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Jordon of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren Dionne Wright of Chamblee, GA and Anthony Wright of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Joshuah, Jhenay, Jeralyn, Amani, Ayana, Christopher and Ashlynn; great-great-grandchildren, Autumn, Greyson and Violet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wynonia; and siblings, Edna Wilson and Jerry Nevells.

Visitation will be in the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home on Saturday 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in Beth El Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to Allen Chapel AME Church.

Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, WY  82001.


Gary Lee Church, 76, of Cheyenne, died on January 24, 2021 in Cheyenne.
He was born on September 21, 1944 in Central City, Nebraska.

Mr. Church retired as an locomotive engineer with UPRR after 46 years of service. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Church, whom he married on March 26, 1966; children, Dr. Christopher Church (Brooke), Patrick Church (Sara), Rustyn Church (Jeannine), and Debra Church; a sister, Marlene Wurl; a brother, Dennis Church; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Church was preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Laura Church.
