Eric Joel Ramirez

Eric Joel Ramirez, 46, of Cheyenne, died on Friday, November 5, 2021, in Denver Colorado after a valiant fight with a rare t-cell lymphoma. He was born on November 14, 1974, in Cheyenne.

Eric lived his life to the fullest and committed his time in many ways. He worked at the I-80 port of entry from 1998 to 2005 where he then moved to the Wyoming Highway Patrol until 2010 after which he moved to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as a Safety Investigator (SI) he worked as an SI for 3 years until becoming the Federal Programs Specialist for 7 years. He then finally got his dream job of Division Administrator for Wyoming in January 2021. Eric devoted his time to family, fishing, football and riding in his red Jeep Gladiator. His love for baseball brought him to coach his son and many other young boys for many years. His daughters being involved in Job’s Daughters made him love the organization and allowed him to be a part of something his daughters loved.

Eric worked so hard on every endeavor he was a part of and anyone who know him knew that he was the hardest of workers. Being such a hard worker earned him so many awards, one he is most proud of is the 2020 Highway Safety Person of the Year. “Go big or go home” and “you be nice” were his mottos to live by.

Eric survived by his wife Monica, his two daughters Joelene and Natalee, his son Coleton and grandson Eli. He also survived by his mother and father Janie and Hank his two brothers Daniel (Karlee) and Anthony (Mimi), and nephew Kaleb (KJ). Alongside these family members he also survived by lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eric always surrounded himself with good people and anyone he came in contact with was never made a stranger.

Eric preceded in death by his grandparents Elwood and Virginia Jessen and Julia Taylor.
Services will be Friday November 19, 2021, at 2:00pm at Cheyenne Hills Church.


Beatrice Rose “Fatty” Cosey

Beatrice Rose Cosey was a lifelong resident of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was born in Greenville, Mississippi on December 22, 1936 and departed this life on Monday, November 8, 2021 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Beatrice was the oldest of fifteen siblings. She loved painting, cooking, collecting magnets, and salt and pepper shakers.

Bea as she affectionately called, enjoyed feeding her family Sunday dinners and anyone else who happened to stop by.

She married Johnny Cosey in June of 1973. She worked as a teaching assistant for Head Start and in the janitorial department at Mountain Towers Nursing home. Beatrice was a proud mother of thirteen children. She was a member of The Holy Temple Church of God in Christ where she was a faithful member until her death under the leadership of Bishop Willie Harris. Beatrice’s doors were always open. She found great joy and passion in counseling, giving love, and understanding. You could always count on her to be a listening ear. Embroidery was also a great pass time for her.
Beatrice leaves to mourn her passing her six children, Pastor Mary Henry, Orlando, FL, Ernest Edrington, Linda Edrington, Leonard Edrington and Jamie Cosey all of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Stephanie Little, Spring Lake, North Carolina; goddaughter, Trinity Bartz, Cheyenne, Wyoming; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; best-friend Cindy Towelerdy; and her “adopted son, John Umaly who catered to her every need. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and surrounding friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Gill and Carey James; children, Jerry Brazzell, Helen Bridgewater, Rosie Bulter, Henriette Dawson, Minnie Waring, Walter Westbrook, and Evette Cosey; grandsons, Anthony Singleton and Jerron Chapman; siblings, Ira Pearson, Patricia Patrick, Dora Higgins, Jimmie Rucker, Mattie Farbes, Kenneth James, Carey Wallace James, John James, Carol James, and Carl James.

Service will be Monday, 1:00 p.m., in The Holy Temple of God in Christ. Interment will follow at a later date.


Dwight C. Haught

Dwight C. Haught passed away on November 8, 2021, after a long illness. He was born on December 8, 1933, to Lester and Jewel Haught in Brewster, Nebraska. The family moved to Alliance, Nebraska where Dwight graduated from Alliance High School in 1952. He enjoyed sports and lettered in football and track. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy.

He served aboard ship and was eventually stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he played baseball for the Naval team. On May 25, 1953, he married Bobbie Lou Brockway in Alliance. Upon discharge from the Navy, he began a career as a meat cutter, which brought his family to Torrington, Wyoming, where he was a meat market manager for Safeway for several years.

He eventually became a wine and distillery representative for Jim Beam and several wineries. On April 7, 1973, he married Janet Wiederspahn Hogg and they eventually moved to Cheyenne, where he managed the Memorial Gardens Cemetery for his father-in-law, J. Arling Wiederspahn. Throughout his life he enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, particularly when his children and grandchildren were playing. He loved playing golf and was a member at both the Torrington-Cottonwood Country Club and the Cheyenne Airport Golf Course.

He was an avid hunter, which he enjoyed doing with his sons and grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Janet K. Haught of Cheyenne; children, David (Cindy) Haught of Spearfish, South Dakota, Donald (Robin) Haught of Bozeman, Montana, Doug (Julie) Haught of Torrington, LaRon (James) Dennis of Wimauma, Florida, LaRae Reid of Hollister, California, and Trenton (Melissa) Hogg of Edina, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Haught of Morgan, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Jewel Haught; sister, Barbara Gentry; a son-in-law, and a great-granddaughter. A Celebration of Life is planned for November 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Little America. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Haught family, C/O 8012 Kepler Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82009, for Dwight’s great-granddaughter, Jordyn, who is awaiting heart transplant surgery.
