Wayne Leroy Lawson

Wayne Leroy Lawson: November 10, 1946 – May 22, 2022 (age 75)

Wayne Leroy Lawson, 75, of Cheyenne, passed away May 22, 2022 surrounded by family.

Wayne was born November 10, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Audrey “Leon” and Florence “Maxine” (Reece) Lawson. He married Vicki Jo McCaslin on January 30th, 1988 in Gillette, Wyoming. John served honorably in the United States Army. Wayne worked for many years as an electrician at the coal mines.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Vicki Jo Lawson; daughter, Billie Beam of Gillette, Wyoming; son, Beau (Celeste) Beam of Bertrand, Nebraska; sister, Sandra Ballard of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; brother, Steven Lawson of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Destiny Beam of Gillette, Wyoming, Kalyn Beam of Elwood, Nebraska, Kenzie (Chaynce) Schepker of Elwood, Nebraska, Teagan McDonnell, Elijah Musick and Cadance McDonnell all of Bertrand, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Bean of Gillete, Wyoming, Aubrey Beam of Gillette, Wyoming, Paisley Beam of Elwood, Nebraska, Rhyann Beam of Gillette, Wyoming and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Maxine Lawson; sister, Jeanette Watkins; and nephew, Brian Watkins.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home; located at 2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001.


Joshua Hunter Odom

Joshua Hunter Odom: October 26, 1990 – May 21, 2022 (age 31)

Joshua “Hunter” Odom, 31, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away May 21, 2022.

Hunter was born October 26, 1990 in Andalusia, Alabama to Tonya and Don Odom. Hunter was in the top of his class graduating with honors of Magna Cum Laude and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice and Data Administration. He also had obtained an Associate degree in Computer Forensics and was one semester away from completing his Master degree of Advanced Data Acquisition, Representation of Reporting, and Data Mining 1.

Hunter will be greatly missed and is survived by his parents, Don and Tonya Odom; aunts and uncles, Tifani (Tony) Moore of Andalusia, Alabama, Curtis (Dina) Odom of Mobile, Alabama, Paul (Jody) Stagner of Valdosta, Georgia, Keith (Crystal) Odom of Lakeland, Georgia, and Robin Plott of Lakewood, Georgia; cousins, Kelse Moore, Dalton Moore, Grayson Moore, Legend Moore and Aiden Moore all of Andalusia, Alabama, Courtney Wingo of San Antonio, Texas, Allison McGee, Nicholas Stagner, Shane Stagner, Rebecca Talledo, Matthew Plott, Johnathan Plott, Lee Plott, Miranda Delbridge, and Elizabeth Avila of Opp, Alabama; and many good friends from work and over the internet from all over the world.

Karen Elizabeth Evans

Karen Elizabeth Evans: July 4, 1949 – May 22, 2022 (age 72)

Karen Elizabeth Evans 72, of Cheyenne passed away on May 22, 2022, in Cheyenne after a 10-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on July 4, 1949, in Manhattan, New York.

Karen married Michael Evans on April 7, 1990, in Thousand Oaks, CA. Karen worked as a NICU nurse at Northridge Hospital in Northridge, CA until moving to Wyoming to be closer to family. She continued her nursing career in the NICU at Pourdre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO and then at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.  Karen enjoyed traveling, studying the Bible with the ladies, and cheering on her grandkids. She had a very strong faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She looks forward to seeing all her brothers and sisters in Christ again in heaven. 

Karen is survived by her husband Mike Evans of Cheyenne; son David House (Elizabeth) of Louisville, CO; daughters Kerrie Fontana (Ken) of Thousand Oaks, CA; Jennifer Freier (Rodney) of Cheyenne, WY; her parents Grace and Boyd Noah; 9 grandchildren: Elodie and Callen House; Justice and Cruz Fontana; Chase and Mckenzie Wilson; Dylan Evans, Eliza and Peyton Thompson; and 3 great grandchildren: Clayne Wilson; Knoxley and Knash Vaughan.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina Thompson.

Please join us for a celebration of life on July 9, 2022, from 11am-2pm at the Archer Community House, 3801 Archer Parkway, Cheyenne, WY.

A private family internment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Park in Cheyenne, WY.  Services are entrusted to the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001.

Sheila L Monger

Sheila L Monger: 1941 – 2022 (age 81)

It is with great sadness that the family of Sheila L. Monger announce her passing on Monday May 23, 2022, at the age of 81. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Sheila and Bob met at Western Michigan University and Sheila began her elementary teaching career after graduating. She was exceptional with kids and many parents were amazed when their child could suddenly read. She taught in Cheyenne over 20 years before retiring. Sheila and Bob were very close throughout their 57 years of marriage. They raised three children who brought them seven grandchildren who loved her and will miss her dearly. Her family was everything and she loved to cook, bake and was an attentive gardener. 

Sheila is survived by her husband Bob Monger of Cheyenne: sons Rob (Jennifer) Monger of Cheyenne, WY: Dan (Alison) Monger of Scituate, MA; daughter Amy (Jeff) Parsons of Broomfield, CO; and seven grandchildren; Danny, Ben, Ellie, Will, William, Maddie, Sophie; and brother David (Debbie) and their son Phillip.

Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Leathers, sister Sharon and brothers, George and Greg.

Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Cheyenne 1:00 PM Friday May 27, 2022, with reception to follow.


Sarah Rayor Johnson

Sarah Rayor Johnson: November 5, 1921 – May 24, 2022 (age 100)

Sarah Rayor Johnson passed at age 100, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on November 5, 1921.

She is survived by her children, Bruce Scheff (Bridget), Sharoan Jeung (Perry), Fern Bar-on z”l (Udi); grandchildren, Laura, Brian, Michael (Tina), Daniel (Emily), Etai (Darcey), Robin (Justin); great-grandmother, of Valerie, Max, Levi, Tami, Zohar, Eshai, and Shahar. 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne Jewish Cemetery.
