Tyrion Nicholas Drue Bowman: 2023 – 2023
Tyrion Nicholas Drue Bowman, five months old, of Cheyenne, passed at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 2023, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Shelby Anne Koenigs Bowman and Deven Lavelle Bowman. Tyrion was a happy and deeply loved little boy. His smile and laughter lit up the room. He loved playing with his brother, sister and cousins. His family lovingly called him “Velcro” because he was only content if he was being held and snuggled.
He is survived by his parents, Shelby and Deven Bowman; his brother Sylas Lavelle Bowman; and his sister Kyriella Monae Bowman; his maternal grandparents, DaNece Day and Todd Allen Koenigs; paternal grandparents, John and Danielle Phillips; aunt Kellyn Clarissa (Jarred) Gillenwater; aunt Makayla (Deontae Sholars) Malmberg; aunt Debanique Lanham; aunt Jordan Benson; and aunt Jannea Bowman; uncle Josh Malmberg; uncle Damond Lanham; cousins Gabreal Malmberg, Malikahi Lanham, Grayson Morris, Marleigh Morris, Sasha Sholars, Keanu Gillenwater and Ezran Sholars; and great-grandmothers LaNece Wolfley Day and Vicki Lynn Strickland Jeffery.
Tyrion was preceded in death by his uncle Tyler Lee Malmberg; great-grandmothers Anne Marie Koenigs; Judith Gay Tardiff & Genia Pearl Coates Bowman; and great-grandfathers Nicholas Herman Koenigs, Austin J. Day and Alfred Drue Stokesberry.
Monita Renae Crosley: 1965 – 2023
Our beautiful Monita Renae Crosley “Moe” or “Nita” passed away unexpectedly in her home in Greeley, Colorado on August 29, 2023 with her dog Bailey by her side. Monita was born on March 27, 1965 in Douglas, Wyoming to David Raymond Crosley and Charlotte June Harris.
Father deceased, mother still living. Monita graduated from Casper College with an associate’s degree in Social Work and went on to receive her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Wyoming in 2016. Monita was employed by Weld County Colorado Human Services, specifically in the Child Welfare Department of human services, where she worked tirelessly for and with children and their safe keeping. She was truly a soldier for children. Monita was loyal to her belief in God, faithful to her church, Foundations Church in Loveland Colorado, and had been baptized on February 27, 2022.
She had many friends and other family that felt her loving heart as well. Monita had a fire for life and she lived it to the fullest. Her love was inescapable and she spread that love far and wide! It would be easy to say that her biggest passion in her life was helping people, which she made a vocation of, but also allowing her caring touch to family and friends alike. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson across the country side, rain, snow or shine she could be seen riding down the highway. You could always find Monita dancing, whether it was at the club or on the front room carpet. She danced and sang to all genres of music; dancing seemed to be one of her favorite things to do. Monita you will be truly missed, but we will have some peace in our hearts knowing you lived so fiercely!
Monita is survived by her daughter Muirenn Buckles; son-in-law Joshua Buckles; grandchildren: Kody, Marcus, and Thomas Buckles; mother Charlotte June Travitz; sister Paula Jean Crosley; brother David Wayne Crosley; step-sister Terri Ann Lesmeister; best friend and “adopted” sister Jacci Warne.
Monita was preceded in death by her father David Raymond Crosley; step-father John Ralph Travitz; and step-brother Michael John Travitz.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the North Casper Clubhouse, located at 1032 E. L Street Casper, Wyoming 82601 (we rented the club house for the day, feel free to come earlier and stay a little later).

Jose L. Cruz: 1929 – 2023
Jose “Joe” L. Cruz, 94, of Cheyenne, passed on September 5, 2023 at the VA Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 15, 1929, to Manuel and Pablita Cruz in Rainsville, New Mexico. He was the third of four sons.
He served in the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 6. He met the love of his life, Elma Montoya, at a dance. They eloped shortly afterwards at the ages of 23 and 17. They were happily married for almost 50 years.
Joe was a truck driver for Salt Creek Freightways. He was retired longer than his years worked. He was a teamster union member his entire career. In Fred’s younger years he was a roper but throughout his life he loved playing baseball, fishing, going on picnics and spending Sundays with his family.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Isabelle (Don) Brehm of Erie, Colorado and Gloria Cruz of Cheyenne; son, Mark (Janet) Cruz of Meade, Colorado; grandsons, Justin, Brandon, Kellen; granddaughter, Marisa; six great-grandchildren, Jyllian, Javyn, Kiera, Bennett, Taiden and Makenzie; younger brother, Othmedo Cruz of Rainsville, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma; parents; two brothers; one sister; and one half-sister.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with military honors. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus.
Ronald Ray Gerber: 1950 – 2023
Ronald Ray Gerber, born on January 15, 1950, in the charming town of Newcastle Wyoming, passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 73. He was the son of Roy and Florice Gerber and grew up in the close-knit community of Alliance, Nebraska.
Ronald’s journey was one marked by resilience, service, and a deep love for two things: his faithful companion, Norman, and the open road. Ronald was an avid dog lover, and his golden retriever, Norman, was not just a pet but a beloved member of his family. They shared countless adventures together, forging an unbreakable bond of love and companionship.
Ronald joined the United States Army in 1968 and served his country in Vietnam earning a purple heart and a bronze star. He was discharged in 1971.
In his professional life, Ronald pursued a career as a truck driver, a vocation that perfectly matched his love for travel and exploration. He crisscrossed the country’s highways and byways, experiencing the beauty and diversity of the United States.
Ronald passed away at the VA nursing home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he received compassionate care in his final days by the wonderful staff.
Ronald’s family played a significant role in his life, and he was preceded in death by his parents; his dog Norman; his sister Marie Ramos; and his brother Donald Gerber. He is survived by his siblings Adele Duran of Alliance, Nebraska; Daniel Gerber (Connie), Joyce Blue (Dennis), all of whom reside in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Peggy (Bruce) Payne of Tucson, Arizona; and Thomas (Annette) Gerber of Washington State. Ronald also leaves behind his nieces, Denise Robinson (Ryan) and Clarissa Gross (Kenneth), both of Cheyenne; along with numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Ronald’s life and military service will be held at Schrader Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne, Wyoming on September 12, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an organization that supports veterans and their families, in his memory.
Ronald Ray Gerber will be remembered as a courageous Vietnam veteran, a loving brother, a devoted uncle, and a free spirit who found solace on the open road. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, love for animals, and passion for exploration will continue to inspire generations to come.
Karen Godhardt: 1957 – 2023
Karen Godhardt, a woman of strength and extraordinary leadership, has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She passed away peacefully in her beautiful home in Cheyenne, Wyoming on September 3, 2023. Karen was born Karen Bluitt on October 25th, 1957 in the vibrant city of New York. She was a loving wife to Thomas Godhardt and a cherished sister to Steven Bluitt.
With an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a brilliant mind, Karen pursued her education with unwavering determination. She graduated ROTC as a Distinguished Cadet one of only 4 to achieve that recognition. She received a full scholarship to Fordham University and also obtained her Ph.D. in Cyber Security. Her academic accomplishments distinguished her as a leading authority in her field and earned her widespread recognition.
Karen’s wealth of knowledge and intellectual prowess were matched only by her remarkable ability to inspire others. A natural-born leader, she guided those around her with grace and compassion. Her unyielding spirit propelled her to undertake every challenge that came her way with tenacity and purpose. She was not one to sit idly by; instead, Karen rolled up her sleeves and fearlessly confronted each obstacle head-on.
In addition to her academic achievements, Karen served as an Army Reserve Officer, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the service of her country. Her honorable military service showcased yet another facet of her character – one marked by bravery and unwavering commitment. In 2001 after 9/11 Karen applied to the Army Reserve to be Re-activated. Everything was approved, however she could not pass the medical due to her poor eyesight (900/20). This is another testament to her love of country and willingness to serve. It was devastating to her not to be able to serve at that time, and this dedication in her was truly amazing and totally in character.
Beyond the confines of work and duty, Karen embraced life with fervor and boundless energy. She loved ballooning and Ferris wheels. Taking to the skies allowed Karen to experience an exhilarating sense of freedom that mirrored the adventurous spirit that burned within.
Her captivating personality radiated with intelligence, resilience, and fiscal savvy. No task was too arduous for Karen; she welcomed every challenge as an opportunity for growth. In every endeavor, she left an indelible mark, inspiring those around her to reach their fullest potential.
Karen’s funeral service will take place on Thursday September 14, 2023, starting at 1:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home, located at 2222 Russell Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Cheyenne National Cemetery on Hildreth Road. Please join her loving husband on Wednesday for the remembrance and to serve as a moment for loved ones to gather and honor Karen’s incredible life. It is a time for us to celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives and bid farewell to a remarkable soul.
Her memory will forever be etched into the tapestry of our hearts. Karen Godhardt was a beacon of strength, intelligence, and leadership. She taught us to face adversity with courage and reminded us of the joy that can be found in embracing life’s adventures. In her absence, Karen leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
Karen is survived by her loving husband Thomas Godhardt and her brother Steven Bluitt. Their bond with Karen was deep-rooted and profound, with shared memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
As we mourn the loss of Karen Godhardt, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life she led. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the inspiration she bestowed upon us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Frederic “Fred” Hoffman Jr.: 1943 – 2023
Fredric G Hoffman, 79, of Cheyenne, passed at Davis Hospice surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born November 20, 1943, in Chadron, Nebraska to Fredric G. Hoffman, Sr. & Letha R. Hoffman.
Fred worked for the Wyoming Dept of Transportation for 42 years.
He loved his god, family, his church family and a good joke.
He is survived by his wife, Janell Hoffman; children: Fredric G. Hoffman III “Todd” (Debbie), Leanna Butki (Jason), and Jennifer Casey (Brian); six grandchildren: DJ Casey (Heather), Clay Casey (Gracie), Edward “Jade” Hoffman (Heidi), Jonathan (Paige), Mary Schwope, Heather Hoffman, and five great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Letha Hoffman; and a son, Edward M. Hoffman
Services will be Saturday September 16th at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church.
Thomas Ralph Jahner: 1954 – 2023
Thomas Ralph Jahner of Surprise, Arizona passed away on August 20, 2023. He was born on April 28, 1954 to Frances and Ralph Jahner in Dickinson North Dakota.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Frances Jahner and brother Michael Jahner.
He is survived by his sister, Suzanne Jahner (Sue) and brother, Charlie Jahner; nieces Michele Jahner, Jenifer Jahner and Katie Moravec; nephews Zach Jahner and Dustin Arellano; great-nephews Dylan, Bo; and one great niece Tatum.
Tom worked for Pacific Power in Casper and Laramie Wyoming until retirement.
Graveside services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dickinson, North Dakota on September 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Jon Mack McNutt: 1944 – 2023
Jon Mack McNutt, 79, of Cheyenne, went home to his heavenly father on September 6, 2023, in Cheyenne. He was born on August 2, 1944 in Grand Island, Nebraska. He lived in Wyoming & Colorado most of his life, but always stayed true to his Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Jon worked in advertising most of his adult life. He was actively involved in Comitis, Denver Broadcasters Association, Jaycees, Boy Scouts, and Radio. With Western Cherokee heritage, he was heavily involved in getting the Western Cherokee Nation recognized as the representatives of the Western Cherokee Nation with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was also Council Chief for his band.
He was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan but also faithfully yelled at the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Rockies. You could hear his voice all over the stadium/ballpark. He was very proud to be left-handed and planned to replace Sandy Koufax until an injury ended his baseball “career”.
He is survived by twin brothers: Jimmy (his wife Carol) McNutt of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Jerry (his wife Janet) McNutt of Chula Vista, California; three daughters: Wendy (her husband Wally) Gordon of Strasburg, Colorado; Terryl (her husband Phil) Scharke of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Leslie Strong of Aurora, Colorado; two sons: William Stewart of Newnan, Georgia; Matthew (his wife Jen) Strong of Kanab, Utah; many nieces and nephews, He dearly loved his grandchildren: Erica, Kendra, England (Jackie), Scott, Mattthew (Samantha), David, Ashley (Casey), Jordyn, Emelie & Ashton (Eli); along with his 11 great grandchildren that he doted on.
He was preceded in death by the LOVE OF HIS LIFE of 47 years, Beverly; two sisters: Pat Tull & Ida Lee Larson; his brother, Dean McNutt; and his parents, Rubye and Arless McNutt.
His sense of humor and passion for everything he did and everyone he loved will be missed. He never met a stranger and literally had friends all over the US.
His Celebration of Life is in the planning stages for spring of 2024.
Carmen Ornelas: 1942 – 2023
Carmen Ornelas, 81, of Cheyenne, died on September 3, 2023 in Cheyenne.
She was born on January 19, 1942 in Cheyenne.
Carmen is survived by her sons, Paul Valdez of Cheyenne and James Valdez, Jr., of Colorado; a brother, Jesse Ornelas (Evelyn) of Colorado; her sisters, Gloria Martinez (Eugenio) , Jennie Robar of Colorado, and Esther Lujan and Pauline Gonzalez of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Theodora (Bustos) Ornelas; two sisters, Julia Lauts and Mary Quintana; and a brother, Joe Ornelas.
A Vigil for the Deceased will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with a Funeral Liturgy to immediately follow.
Glenna Sainsbury: 1941 – 2023
Glenna Elaine Sainsbury, 82 of Cheyenne Wyoming passed away August 24, 2023 at Davis Hospice after a long Illness.
Glenna was born January 2, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was an Executive Secretary for several companies in Utah, Chicago, Illinois, Detroit, Michigan, and in Manhattan New York, New York. She retired from CBS in 2001 and moved to Cheyenne with her husband of 64 years; Jan Sainsbury. They were on the first flight out of NYC after 9/11.
Glenna loved many aspects of Cheyenne, especially Holiday Park where she walked daily. She formed lasting friendships with the Park Pals, and their pups. Given the excellent culinary skills she’d gained from different chefs throughout the country, she was thrilled to join a gourmet cooking club that met monthly and so loved the food. The GIRL FRIEND’S CLUB was her most special activity and she will be missed terribly by its members.
Having lived and worked in major cities, she and Jan rented apartments and followed suit for 8 years in Cheyenne. They bought their first home and the joys of gardening opened a new world of creativity and pleasure for Glenna, and those who joined her on her patio for a glass.
Glenna was loved by all who knew her. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all.
Glenna is survived by her daughter Kelly DiBIasi; grandson Joey DiBlasi; and two great-grandchildren, Corbyn and Bella; along with four sisters and one brother; and her dear Corgi, Stubby.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; and her husband, Jan. She was also preceded in death by her son, Sean.
Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral home, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Donations may be made to Davis Hospice.
A celebration of her life is being held at Holliday Park on September 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
