Louise Jacobsen

Louise Jacobsen: 1936 – 2023

Louise Jacobsen was born on January 9, 1936, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to parents Hoyt and Leona DuVall. She grew up on a ranch 30 miles north of Cheyenne, and attended Chugwater Schools, where she received her education. In 1953, Louise graduated from Chugwater High School, marking the beginning of a life filled with love, perseverance, and dedication.

After completing high school, Louise briefly worked for the State of Wyoming before her marriage to George Wayne Jacobsen in 1956. Together, they embarked on a journey that would span more than six decades of shared experiences and cherished memories. Louise was not only a loving wife but also a devoted mother to their three ornery sons. She poured her heart and soul into every aspect of their lives, ensuring they were well cared for and loved.

In addition to nurturing her family, Louise made significant contributions to her community. For many years, she served as the Clerk of the Laramie County 4-H Sale and dedicated her time to the Albin Cemetery Board. Her commitment to these roles showcased her willingness to go above and beyond for causes close to her heart.

Louise had an incredible work ethic that fueled her throughout her life. As a bookkeeper for PTI, Jacobsen Harvesting and Jacobsen Ranch Inc., she applied herself diligently and took great pride in her work. Her family admired her unwavering dedication and attention to detail.

Anyone who knew Louise would agree that she had a heart full of warmth, compassion, and an infectious sense of humor. She possessed an uncanny ability to bring people together through laughter and shared moments of joy. Her quick wit brightened even the gloomiest of days, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Louise had a deep love for social activities and never missed a game of basketball. Her commitment to supporting her children and grandchildren in their pursuits was unwavering. She reveled in attending County Fairs, volleyball matches, and basketball games, where she cheered on her loved ones with unmatched enthusiasm.

Outside of her commitments and responsibilities, Louise found solace and joy in her hobbies. She had a green thumb that transformed her garden into a vibrant tapestry of beautiful flowers. Tending to her blooms brought her tremendous happiness and served as a testament to her nurturing nature. During the colder months, she enjoyed engaging in puzzles that challenged her mind and brought about moments of quiet reflection. Her annual tradition of making caramels for Christmas became a cherished gift eagerly anticipated by all who were lucky enough to receive them.

Among Louise’s proudest accomplishments were her sons. Each son held State Offices in the Wyoming FFA Association an achievement that filled Louise with immense pride. Additionally, witnessing Ron and Don win basketball championships during their senior years in high school brought immeasurable joy to Louise’s heart.

As life progressed and Louise became a grandmother, she found renewed purpose and delight in being a guiding light for the younger generation. She attended countless events and celebrations to support her six grandchildren. Their accomplishments filled Louise’s heart with immense love and immeasurable pride.

On December 20, 2023, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Louise Jacobsen’s journey peacefully came to an end. While Cheyenne was her final place due to her health complications, her heart will always remain on the farm in Albin, Wyoming. The place where she and George Wayne started their journey together, and lived happily for 53 years. Her legacy of strength, compassion, dedication will forever live on.

She is survived by her three loving sons: Ron Jacobsen, Don (Joni) Jacobsen, Larry (Anne) Jacobsen; six adoring grandchildren: Brian(Ashley) Jacobsen, Eric Jacobsen, Becky(Mike) Konegni, Patrick (Megan) Jacobsen, Michelle (Adam) Waddell, Kayla (Kurt) Fleisher; ten great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and a host of friends whose lives she enriched with her presence. In the embrace of her eternal rest, she will reunite with her beloved husband, George Wayne Jacobsen, as well as her parents, Hoyt and Leona DuVall.

Louise Jacobsen will be remembered as a remarkable woman who touched the lives of those around her with love, kindness, and unwavering support. Her indelible spirit will continue to inspire generations to come, reminding us all to live life fully and cherish every precious moment. Rest in peace, dear Louise.


James E. Keller

James E. Keller: 1958 – 2023

James E. Keller, known affectionately as Jimbo, was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. With a distinguished career and a heart full of love and generosity, he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on July 2, 1958, in Syracuse, New York, Jimbo showed great promise from an early age. He graduated from Liverpool High School in the Class of 1976 and continued his pursuit of knowledge at Syracuse University. His thirst for education was matched only by his dedication to serving his country.

Jimbo’s career in the military began when he joined the US Air Force in 1977. He served with unwavering commitment for 20 years after reaching the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His significant contributions to the Air Force are a testament to his devotion and loyalty to his country. After leaving the military, Jimbo embarked on a new chapter as the Chief Information Officer of the 90th Medical Group at FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He served in this position for another 20 years until his recent retirement in 2021.

Jimbo’s leadership skills and technological expertise greatly contributed to the success of the medical group. Beyond his professional achievements, Jimbo’s true joy resided in spending time with his beloved family. He cherished every moment he shared with Nancy Keller in their 51 years together and united they created a warm and loving home. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love for one another served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

As a father and grandfather, Jimbo found immense happiness. His treasured son and daughter-in-law, Jakson and Brenna Edward, brought him immeasurable joy, along with his dear grandchildren, Lilliana and Lucy of Portland, Oregon. His cherished daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Zach Goeken, with their children: Cameron, Mariah, Everett, and Layla of Cheyenne, Wyoming, were also a source of immense pride and love for him. Until the end he always said the two greatest proclamations of life were faith and family.

Jimbo’s unwavering faith was an incredible source of strength for him, his love of God, the gospel, and his commitment to gaining all the knowledge he could were passions that gave him enthusiasm for the boundless joy he created for others. HIs steadfast determination to share the love of God was a catalyst for his connections with countless people in his life. Sharing the word of God was a source of delight for him that until the end brought him peace and fulfillment. In his leisure time, Jimbo had a passion for cooking, camping, and skiing. Whether he was preparing meals for the 12 days of Christmas for his squadron or sitting around a campfire listening to Pink Floyd, he found solace and joy in these simple pleasures. Additionally, Jimbo’s love for music and studying theology enriched his life and allowed him to appreciate the beauty of the world around him. Jimbo’s caring nature extended beyond his immediate family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and could be counted on as a pillar of support. His generosity knew no bounds, and his acts of kindness touched the lives of many.

On December 21, 2023, Jimbo peacefully passed away surrounded by his family after a brief illness complicated by other health concerns. While our hearts ache at the loss of such an extraordinary individual, we take solace in knowing that his memory will forever be etched in our minds and all should find comfort that he is at peace with his creator. Jimbo is greeted with open arms by his late father, Ernest Keller; mother, Beverly Keller; and brother, Randy Keller. Also mourning his loss are his brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his brother Skip and Chieko Keller of Jacksonville, Florida; sister Kristen and Bob Coon of Daytona, Florida; sister-in-law, Thao Keller of Daytona, Florida; brother Brad and Kim Keller of Syracuse, New York; and sister, Jessica Keller of Jacksonville, Florida. His stepmother Terry Keller of Jacksonville, Florida also mourns his loss.

In celebrating Jimbo’s life, let us remember the immense joy he brought to all those around him. His selflessness, compassion, and unwavering love will forever shine as guiding beacons for us all. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us strive to carry on his legacy by spreading kindness and love in our own lives.

In the words of Jimbo himself, “Life is a gift, and it should be lived to the fullest.” May his spirit continue to inspire us to embrace life with open hearts and to cherish our loved ones every single day. Tristan Zane Martinez

Tristan Zane Martinez: 1997 – 2023

Tristan Zane Martinez, born on February 25 1997, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, touched the lives of many during his time with us. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing on December 19, 2023, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Tristan’s legacy as a compassionate caregiver and his love for his family will forever be cherished.

From an early age, Tristan showed a deep empathy for others and a strong desire to help them. He dedicated himself to making a difference in the lives of disabled adults as a caregiver. His work at a nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) showcased his unwavering commitment to providing care and ensuring the well-being of others.

Beyond his remarkable career achievements, Tristan had numerous passions and interests that brought him immense joy. He had an innate talent for working on vehicles and could often be found tinkering under the hood with great enthusiasm. His love for cars was evident in his dedication to achieving an Automotive Certification at Laramie County Community College.

Tristan held countless fond memories of moments spent outdoors, particularly when he was fishing. Even if he caught the smallest fish, he would proudly showcase it like a triumphant achievement, always accompanied by an infectious smile. However, there was one occasion where Tristan’s adventurous spirit got the better of him. When his brother playfully threw a stick into the lake, Tristan fearlessly dove after it without knowing how deep the water was. Thankfully, a stranger came to his rescue and ensured his safety—an experience that taught him valuable lessons about relying on others in challenging times.

Education played an instrumental role in shaping Tristan’s character and skills. He graduated from Triumph High School before pursuing further studies in both automotive mechanics and healthcare as a CNA certified individual. His commitment to personal growth and learning exemplified his strong work ethic and determination.

Tristan’s warm-heartedness extended beyond professional realms. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. His unyielding love for his family knew no bounds, and they held a special place in his heart. Through thick and thin, he stood as a pillar of support for those he cherished most.

In his leisure time, Tristan found solace in collecting Denver Broncos memorabilia—an avid fan who cheered on his favorite team with passion. Watching football games brought him joy and added a touch of excitement to his life. But above all else, being a father was Tristan’s greatest pride. His dedication to caring for his son was evident in the way he embraced this role with unwavering commitment.

Tristan will forever be remembered as one of the kindest souls to grace our lives. His genuine smile brightened even the darkest days and provided comfort to those around him. His lighthearted nature often led him to be delightfully goofy, putting smiles on the faces of others whenever possible.

In honoring Tristan’s memory, let us also recognize some of the proudest accomplishments of his life—his tireless efforts in helping people and working with disabled individuals. His commitment to making a positive impact will continue to inspire others to follow in his compassionate footsteps.

Tristan leaves behind a loving family and numerous cherished relationships that will hold his memory close. He is survived by his mother, Lynn A. Martinez; father, Robert J. Carmine; brother, Trevis K. Martinez; sisters, Tori L. Carmine and Tawney R. Carmine; grandparents, James M. Martinez, Carla K. Martinez, Robert D. Carmine, Joy D. Lay; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, including Kieara Munoz (girlfriend) and their son Grayson J. Munoz.

During this difficult time of profound loss, let us remember Tristan not through tears alone but through the laughter he brought into our lives. May his kind soul find eternal peace, knowing that his presence and impact will forever be treasured by those he leaves behind.


LeeAnn Tapp

LeeAnn Tapp: 1953 – 2023

Karen (LeAnn) Tapp passed away at home on December 20, 2023. She was born on March 5, 1953, in Wheatland, Wyoming to Joan Coulthard and Joe Butner.

LeAnn was a master seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and macrame. She also loved baking cakes and making candy.

LeAnn is survived by her sons, Michael Capps and Christopher Tapp; sisters, Sharon (Joe) VonSeggern and Lori Jo Butner; and numerous grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her beloved pets.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Sharon R. York

Sharon R. York: 1949 – 2023

Sharon R. York, age 74 passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Sharon was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 17, 1949. She graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 1967 and spent most of her career working for Qwest. She attended both Miracle Valley and Destiny where she was surrounded by her brothers and sisters in Christ. Sharon will be held close to the hearts of her loved ones and be remembered for her generosity and her kindness that she held for her friends and loved ones.

She had a love for reading and watching movies (especially if it involved cowboys). She also loved to spend her time with her Alexa as it played the music of her favorite artists, such as Johnny Cash and Josh Turner.

She is survived by her children, Celeste (Wayne) Fox and Jennifer (Jeremy) Roberts; grandchildren: Mikayla Fox, Zachary Fox, Gracie McGraw, and Tristyn McGraw; siblings: Mike Albee (Kathy), Patricia Corbidge (Dave), and Steve Albee; along with her numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, James and Artis Jo Albee; grandson, Isaiah McGraw; brother, James Albee; sister, Lynn House; son-in-law, Randy McGraw; and husband, Eddie York.

Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, in Destiny Church. Interment to follow at Beth El Cemetery.
