A long time animal lover, Martha was an accomplished equestrian and raised horses most of her life.
Her family finally settled in Albuquerque New Mexico.
After graduating high school, Martha attended Arizona State University.
During the summer breaks Martha worked as a youth counselor leading backcountry horse packing trips in Colorado.
She graduated with a Masters Degree in education. However, not wanting to be a teacher, she joined the Albuquerque Police Department and was the only female to complete Academy class Number 17 in 1962. She was one of the first 11 females officers hired by the city.
It was while moving into her first apartment she met a dashing young Airman who was moonlighting moving furniture on the weekends to help pay for his fancy cars.
After a short courtship with numerous fly fishing trips in the local mountains, Martha and John Nestorick, Jr. were married in Albuquerque, New Mexico in August of 1963. Later in 1966, they welcomed their first son, John B. Nestorick.
Shortly after his birth, they were deployed overseas and the three of them traveled all over Europe in trains and a Volkswagen Van. In 1969, while stationed in West Germany, the couple welcomed their second son, Justin.
After returning stateside and with orders to FE Warren AFB, Martha and John finally put down roots.
Not content with being a homemaker Martha opened MarJohns craft store and successfully operated that for many years downtown. Martha then went to work as a dental assistant for 17 years. She and John raised two boys, 16 horses, and countless animals at their dream property on Happy Jack Road.
A few years after the passing of her husband in 1992, she sold the house on Happy Jack and moved into her cabin on 10 acres at the Rambler where she lived by herself with her beloved dogs, cats and thousands of books for 13 years, until the winters got too cold and the snow too deep.
She then moved to California with her son JB, until he passed in 2014. Martha then moved back to Cheyenne for the next 8 years before moving to Carter, Montana to be closer to her son Justin and his family.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Minnie Young; her husband, John; her son, JB; her brother, Rodney Young; as well as her favorite gelding, Shami and numerous four-legged friends.
