Dwain Lester McCard

Dwain Lester McCard: 1938 – 2024

Dwain Lester McCard, a highly skilled excavator and road grader, passed away on February 13, 2024, at his home in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born on September 2, 1938, in Cheyenne to his parents, Lester and Florence McCard.

Dwain lived a remarkable life filled with adventure and cherished moments. He had a deep passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, camping – essentially everything that involved being surrounded by nature. Dwain found solace and joy in these activities and embraced each opportunity to connect with the beauty of the world around him.

Known for his incredible work ethic and exceptional talent, Dwain left an indelible mark through his career in excavation and road grading. He approached each project with meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship. The roads he worked on were engraved with his expertise and precision. Dwain’s dedication to his profession earned him immense respect among his peers.

Beneath his industrious exterior, Dwain possessed a heart of gold. He had an unwavering ability to see the good in people and approached every interaction with kindness and compassion. His infectious positivity uplifted those around him and left a lasting impact on their lives. Dwain’s warm personality created an atmosphere of love and acceptance wherever he went.

One of his fondest memories was going hunting and camping with loved ones. These precious moments brought him closer to nature and provided opportunities for bonding with family and lifelong friends. Dwain cherished these adventures dearly as they became the foundation of countless shared stories and laughter.

Among Dwain’s proudest accomplishments were building the stock car track alongside his dad and brother. Working side by side with them brought a deep sense of fulfillment as they transformed their dreams into reality. Additionally, he took great pride in constructing garages and spending countless hours tinkering in his shop. Dwain’s skillful hands and attention to detail were evident in every project he took on, including building his own house brick by brick.

Dwain will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Lester and Florence; as well as his sister, Lois. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters, Dixie (Doug) of Hotchkiss, Colorado and Tammy (Tom) of Casper, Wyoming. Dwain’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Kaylee (Chris) and Casey (Ashley) of Casper, Wyoming, along with his great-granddaughter Brylee Taylor, and Charlotte, grandson Carson Taylor, and Jack – all of Casper.

In addition to his immediate family, Dwain leaves behind his dear sister, Maxine (Bud) Webber and brother, Mickey (Barb), both residing in Cheyenne. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless close friends whose lives he touched deeply.

Dwain Lester McCard will forever be remembered for his remarkable craftsmanship and unwavering ability to see the good in others. His legacy lives on through the memories shared during hunting trips, adventures in the great outdoors, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace surrounded by the beauty he loved so dearly.


Donald J. Stewart

Donald J. Stewart: 1942 – 2024

Donald Stewart, 81, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024, with his loving wife Francine by his side.

He was born on July 15, 1942, to Harry R. and Veta Stewart (Rice) in Winslow, Arizona. Donald was a proud Iron Worker, constructing several places all over the United States.

Donald is survived by his wife, Francine Stewart (Scheel); and nephew, Larry Stewart. Donald was preceded in death by both of his parents and three siblings. There are no services scheduled at this time.
