LeRoy Nelson Everitt: 1937 – 2024
LeRoy N. Everitt, 86, passed away on March 12, 2024, surrounded by family at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyo.
He was born October 7, 1937, in Elmira, New York to loving parents, Linton and Ruby Everitt. In 1955, LeRoy enlisted in the United States Air Force. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Joint Services Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal among numerous others. He spent his 26 years on active duty as a USAF surveyor. He was stationed throughout the world including Japan, Germany, Philippines, Taiwan, and many states throughout the U.S., retiring in Cheyenne, Wyo., in 1982. He was passionate about surveying, and after retiring from the Air Force worked for the State of Wyoming Department of Transportation Right of Way division. He retired in 2021 after 35 years of service to the State of Wyoming.
As a young airman stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia, LeRoy met Marilyn Sizemore and later married her on August 4, 1963, at Fuchu Air Station, Tokyo, Japan. In 1971, they welcomed their son, Lee. LeRoy was a loving and devoted father.
LeRoy was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, devoting his time as a Sunday school teacher and serving as treasurer for United Methodist Men.
LeRoy was a member of both the Cheyenne Shriners Club as a Shrine clown and the Masonic Lodge where he reached the distinguished position of Past Master.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Everitt; parents, Linton and Ruby Everitt; brothers, Franklin and Clarence Everitt; and sister, Belle Everitt.
LeRoy is survived by his son, Lee Everitt (Kristen) of Groveland, Florida; granddaughters, Katheryn Goodrich (Peyton) and Jenna Goodrich of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers-in-law, Glenn Sizemore and Ted Sizemore of Ocilla, Georgia; and sister-in-law, Pat Foster (Jack) of Atlanta, Georgia.
LeRoy will live on through the memories he created and the hearts he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Celebration of life service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on March 21 at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Chapel, 2222 Russell Ave., in Cheyenne, Wyo. Burial with full military honors will take place afterward at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by reception at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Levi Gerald Martin: 1998 – 2024
Levi Gerald Martin, 25, of Carpenter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born on October 26, 1998. Adopted one week later by Helen, Lisa, Carrie, and MaLinda, Levi became a gift that the family never expected. Born without a brain, they were told he would not live more than a few years. While there were medical issues, Levi continued to grow into a sweet and loving young man. He loved being held, kissed, and listening to music. He also showed love and was a beautiful blessing to his family. He will be dearly missed.
Levi was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Helen Martin; siblings, Jessica, Jordan, and Cody; and a niece, Katie Martin.
Graveside services will be Monday, 1:00 p.m., at the Carpenter Cemetery.
Veronica “Ronnie” Scherden: 1936 – 2024
Veronica passed at Davis Hospice Center, Cheyenne Wyoming on March 12, 2024, surrounded by loving family members. She was born on November 17, 1936, in Evanston, Wyoming to Emma S. Allard and Charles Allard.
She Married Daniel Scherden on September 24, 1955, and they have five children: Steve, Tim, Anne-Marie Oakman, Joseph, and Donald – all of whom survive her, along with daughters-in-law, Sherry and Mary Scherden. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brittany, Christopher, Jessica, Joseph, Cameron Carns, Timmy, Tyler, Jordan, Kade, Autie, April, and Jon Crawford; and three great-grandchildren: Audrey WhiteFace, Cameron Cuenca, and Forest Scherden.
Veronica was preceded in death by her father, Charles Allard; mother, Emma Philbrick; stepfather, John Philbrick; brother, Donald Allard; sister, Delores Selby; nephews, Jack Selby, and Tom Allard; nieces: Susan, Joan and Mary Alice Selby and Dorothy Allard.
Veronica attended the University of Wyoming and later in life Laramie County Community College, she worked at Roedel Rexall Drugs, The Denver Post, Hertz Rent-a-Car, National Foods, Credit Bureau Services, and the US Postal Service from which she retired. After retirement she worked for the Country Doctor and Noah’s Ark.
Veronica enjoyed bowling with Dan, watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Mostly, she was so proud of her association with and being a “Friend of Bill’s.” She sponsored many people in the program and hosted meetings for women in the jails along with her good friend and Cheyenne daughter, Mary Marchand.
A viewing will be Wednesday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Wiederspan-Radomsky
Funeral Home, with a Vigil for the Deceased to follow at 5:00 p.m. Her funeral liturgy will be Thursday, March 21, at 10:00 a.m., which will take place at St. Mary’s Cathedral, with interment and a reception to follow.
