Amanda Gail Pierce (Adsit)

Amanda Gail Pierce (Adsit): 1978 – 2024

Amanda Gail Pierce (Adsit), fondly known as “Pants,” was a cherished member of the community who dedicated 22 years of her life to being a talented Vet Tech. For two decades, she poured her heart and soul into the Frontier Veterinary Clinic, where she not only cared for numerous animals but also touched the lives of many people along the way.

Born on September 20, 1978, in North Platte, Nebraska, Amanda’s love for animals and passion for helping others guided her throughout her life. After graduating from East High School, she went on to earn an Associates Degree of Science from Eastern Wyoming College, specializing in Animal Sciences.

Amanda’s vibrant personality radiated through her love for animals, concerts, motorcycles, camping, and cherished moments at the cabin with family and friends. She was a beacon of warmth and comfort, always ready with a laugh and unwavering in her commitment to protecting those she held dear.

On April 23, 2024, Amanda passed away peacefully at her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, surrounded by her loved ones—a testament to the profound impact she had on all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Justin Pierce; daughter, Emma Pierce; son, Hayden Pierce; parents, Tim and Peggy Adsit; brother, Mark Adsit; grandmother, Pauline Bookout; grandmother, JoAnn Fowler; in-laws, Charlie and Dixie Pierce; as well as aunts; uncles; cousins; brothers-in-law; and countless close friends who were like family to her (“Framily”). Among those who preceded her in death are her grandfather, Joe Bookout; grandfather, Jim Adsit; and aunt, Susan Bookout.

One of Amanda’s proudest accomplishments was building a loving family with her husband Justin and raising two beautiful children. Her legacy of compassion and joy will continue to live on through those whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 22, 2024. The event will take place at American Legion Post 6 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Celebrations will begin at 12:00 p.m. to honor the remarkable life of Amanda Gail Pierce.

Betty Weidenbach

Betty Weidenbach: 1931 – 2024

Mrs. Betty Lou Weidenbach, 92, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on April 20, 2024.

Betty was born on December 25, 1931, to Katherine (Miller) Foos and John Foos in Wheatland, Wyoming. After graduating from Wheatland High School, Betty worked in the nursing industry in Wheatland and Cheyenne before becoming a full-time homemaker.

She met George Weidenbach in Wheatland on a blind date. They married in 1950, and had four children: George (Nick), Michael, Joseph, and Georganne.

Betty was predeceased by her parents; her husband; four sisters: Leah Schott, Helen Gabb, Virginia Preuit, Emma Foos; two brothers, John Foos, Edward Foos; and daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Ackerman) Weidenbach.

She is survived by her children: Nick Weidenbach, of Cheyenne, Michael Weidenbach, of Littleton, Colorado, Joseph Weidenbach, of Mesquite, Nevada, and Georganne Weidenbach, of Park City, Utah; two grandchildren, Kelly Weidenbach, Kristi Weidenbach; and one great-grandchild, Nicholas Vigil.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative.


Robert Charles Witzel Jr.

Robert Charles Witzel Jr.: 1941 – 2024

Robert C. Witzel, 83, of Cheyenne, passed at Davis Hospice Center following many visits with his loving family.

He was born on April 3, 1941, in Newcastle, Wyoming to Robert and Irma Witzel. Robert was a mainframe computer programmer and loved fishing, hunting, and many other outdoor activities. Robert was passionate about improving mental health care and education in his local community.

He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Kathy and Erick Mandt; his son, Charles Witzel; his sister, Judie Reazin; his grandson, Ian Mandt and his partner Rachel Levin; and his granddaughter, Elsa Mandt and her partner, Cameron Gutgsell. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Jo Dern.
