Emma M. Garcia: 1941 – 2024
Emma M. Garcia, 82, of Cheyenne, died on May 19, 2024 in Cheyenne.
She was born on November 16, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Wednesday, 5:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery.
Thomas Henry Mulhern: 1938 – 2024
Thomas Henry Mulhern, 86, of Cheyenne, passed peacefully at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on May 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on January 2, 1938, to Helen and Arthur Mulhern and grew up in Brooklyn, New York.
Tom enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 and was stationed in Idaho and Montana where he developed a love of the west. He married Joan Lane on June 6, 1958. He moved his family from Manhattan to Cheyenne in 1969. Tom worked for over 20 years at Cheyenne Light Fuel and Power Co. He was a well-known wood carver and an avid fly fisherman. He enjoyed movies, family activities and games of all sorts from cards and Pictionary to horseshoes to nerf gun battles, all with a keen sense of joyful competition.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons, Tom (Kym) of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Wayne (Maranatha) of Cheyenne; six grandchildren: Zachary (Lauren) of Mayer, Minnesota, Erin Rovelstad (Keith) of Sunnyvale, California, Ethan (Bethany) of Cheyenne, Brian (Lauren) of Edwarsburg, Michigan, Ben (Sylvia) of Cheyenne, and Cody (Kyra) of Butte, Montana; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at a date to be determined.
James Henry Steege: 1951 – 2024
I am sad to announce the death of my loving husband; dad, papa and great grandpapa, James ‘”Jim” Henry Steege, 72, of Hillsdale, Wyoming.
He was born to Betty and Martin Steege of Burns Wyoming in Cheyenne, Wyoming on September 16, 1951, and was raised north of Burns. He graduated from Burns High School in 1970 as Salutatorian. He served in the Wyoming Army National Guard for six years (1971-to 1977), and married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Esther Martinez, July 9, 1972. They were married for almost 52 years.
Jim was a journeyman electrician for Walden Electric for 10 years. Jim and Esther owned Pole Valley Construction. Jim was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. They built their house from the ground up. He enjoyed riding his Haley Davidson motorcycle side by side with his wife. He enjoyed gardening, leather work, woodworking and anything outdoors. He had a great sense of humor.
James is survived by his wife, Esther; son, Luke and his wife, (Kerry Benzen) of Victor Montana; adopted daughter, Rebecca Shepherd of Reno Nevada; grandson, Cody and wife, (Kebra Kalstrom) Swanson-Steege of Katy, Texas; granddaughter, Harley and husband, (Cory) Lemaster of Carpenter, Wyoming; grandsons, Charlie and CJ Shepherd of Sheridan Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Waylon and Emersyn Swanson Steege; sister, Ruth and her husband, (Norm) Manners of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and brother, Dave and wife, (Branda) Steege of North Burns, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Martin Steege.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday May 26, 2024, at the Hillsdale Cemetery off county road 142 in Hillsdale WY at 1:00 p.m. A potluck Celebration of Life dinner will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Burns Plex, 315 South Main Street, southeast entrance of North Building in Burns, Wyoming.

Ellen Louise Woodland: 1941 – 2024
Ellen Louise Woodland, 83, of Cheyenne, passed away on May 14, 2024 at home in Cheyenne. She was born on February 26, 1941 in Genoa, Nebraska. She was the daughter of the late James Newby and Catherine Maas Newby.
Ellen graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in 1963 and worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 50 years. She worked and or taught nursing in Omaha, Nebraska, the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Panama Canal Zone, Panama, Cheyenne, Wyoming and several cities in northern Colorado. She loved her profession and served as the Director of Nursing at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne for many years. Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served her church in multiple capacities over the years.
Ellen loved to travel with her family to visit both family and friends made throughout the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Boyd Daniels Woodland (Woody); her son, James Woodland; her daughter, Valerie Winters and her husband Del; seven grandchildren: Kayla Jones and her husband Garrett, Cody Woodland and his wife Alexandra, Kassidy Miranda and her husband Francisco, Cortney Woodland, Karlie Woodland, Shelby Winters and her fiancé Kevin, and Noah Winters; four great-grandsons: Reed, Blaine, Landon and Tanner; her sister, Rita Newby; her brother, Chadd Newby; and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woodland was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Shirley Newby.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ellen will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 309 Western Hills Blvd Cheyenne, WY. 82009-3437.
