William Lyman Busey: 1940 – 2024

William Lyman “Bill” Busey went home on September 10, 2024, after a multi-year battle with COPD.
He was born in Lazear, Colorado on February 11, 1940, to Harry and Florence Busey.

He and his late wife, Sharalee, moved to Cheyenne in 2018. They previously lived in Saratoga, Wyoming; Cascade, Montana; and Jackson, Wyoming, where Bill worked as a ranch hand. Bill retired from ranching in 1986 and went to work for the school district in Saratoga. He retired again in 1996 due to heart issues.

Bill is survived by his three daughters, “The Busey Girls”: Sara Kakalecik and Laura Pate of Cheyenne, and Gayle Cornick of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren: Chris Moody, Corrie Graham, David Wang, Caitlin Wang, Nichelle Howell and Danielle Clemetson; great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Connor, Peyton, Auryon, Charlee, Kennedy, Easton and Emma. He is survived by his sister, Kathy Cramer.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Cheyenne National Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Moose Lodge, 1019 S. Greeley Hwy, Cheyenne, Wyoming at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to hospice programs or your local veteran’s programs.


Medea L. Woods: 1942 – 2024

Medea woods, aged 81, died at home on August 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Pearl Isaacson; sister, Lauren Elkin; and her son, Timothy Arradondo.

She is survived by her sisters: Holly Fields and Coral Bastien; her daughter-in-law, Terry Arradondo; her granddaughters: Briana Claucherty, Meghan Arradondo, Cassandra Arradondo, Gabrielle Arradondo and Danielle Arradondo; her grandson, Shawn Arradondo; and many great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed a lifelong passion for drawing, painting, and horses. She was never one to retreat but was energetic, intellectual, impulsive and never lost her sense of humor.
