Millie Mae Downey

Millie Mae Downey: 1936 – 2024

Millie Mae Downey, 86, of Cheyenne, died on October 8, 2024 in Cheyenne. She was born on August 15, 1938 in Burns, Wyoming.

Millie was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge #257 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #128. She was a homemaker most of her life. She did work for the school district for 10 years.

She enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren

Millie is survived by her children: Lori (Dennis) Fanning, David Downey, Ron (Diane) Downey, Valerie (Eric) Millhouse, and Jeff Downey; grandchildren: Bret (Jillian) Fanning, Kyle (Lauren) Fanning, Drew Downey, Tyler Downey, Michael Downey, Amanda (Kevin) Lockman, Ashley Millhouse, Alex Millhouse, and Brandalynn Downey; her great-grandchildren: Palmer Fanning, Selena Millhouse Cole, Stefan McCorkle, Shalee Lockman, Sophia Lockman, Liam Ruiz, and Storm Downey; and her brother, Daniel (Nickey) Loetscher .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Ella Mae Loetscher; her husband, Ron Downey; her brother, Edward Loetscher; her grandson, Isaiah Downey; and a great grandson, Stetson Lockman.

Services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with a reception to immediately follow at The Gathering Place.


Gloria (Lucero) Kiser: 1927 – 2024

Gloria (Lucero) Kiser, born April 16, 1927, the eve of Easter, hence the name given to her at birth (Gloria), went to heaven on October 16, 2024, surrounded by her family and her loving husband of 53 years, Larry Kiser.

Gloria was born in Gallup, New Mexico to Tedocio Lucero and Andrea McClintic. She was the first born of nine siblings. At the age of 16, her family moved to Cheyenne, where she remained and raised a huge family known as the Zunigas.

Gloria will be greatly missed by her surviving family,: Larry Kiser, husband; sons, George, Tony (Mae), Andrew (Annette) Zuniga; daughters, Christine Lopez, Virginia Stile (Larry Dunn), Connie Simons (Tim Case), Lorraine (Arsenio) Fresquez, Linda Sandoval (Herm), Autumn Kiser; and daughter-in-law, Terri Zuniga. She is also survived by her sister, Magnolia Ramirez; and brothers, Arnold and Jimmy Lucero.

Gloria leaves a legacy of 33 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren.

Welcoming her with open arms to the kingdom of heaven were her daughters: Evelyn Sanchez and Isabelle Zuniga; her son, James Zuniga; her grandsons: Alejandro Sandoval, Alan Roberge, David Kiser; great-grandsons; Dominic Lopez and Franky Puente; her parents and siblings: Ted, Otilio, Leroy, Ray Lucero, Eva Commander and Cathy Fletcher; and five beloved sons-in-law: Donald Sanchez, Joe Lopez, John Simons, Joe Pacheco, and Dan Stile.

Blessed be the God and Father. We thank you for Gloria’s life, we thank you for giving her to us, and we thank you for the glory we shall share together.

Our family is especially thankful to Caring Edge Hospice for the loving care they provided to our mom during the past two years. Their home care service was remarkable.

A Visitation will take place on Monday from 12 to 4 p.m., in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial to follow on Wednesday at 2 p.m., in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.


Thomas Lee McBride: 1950 – 2024

Thomas L. McBride, age 74, passed away October 4, 2024, in Cheyenne.

Tom was born in Cheyenne on June 17, 1950, to John & Ruth McBride. He graduated from East High School in 1968 and went on to attend Cannon Aeronautical School, where he became a certified airplane mechanic. Tom also completed an apprenticeship through the Plumbers & Pipefitters UA Local 192, earning Journeyman status.

In September of 1970, Tom married Linda K. Goepfert (Franklin) with whom he had his four children: Denise, Chris, Amy and Cindy. They later divorced.

In the 1980’s, Tom moved to Milford, Connecticut in search of work. There, he met the love of his life, Maureen Cantalupo, with whom he shared more than 30 wonderful years until her passing. Tom lived in Milford until 2021, when he returned to Cheyenne.

A passionate car enthusiast, Tom enjoyed building and racing cars. Shortly before his passing, the build on his 1933 Ford was completed and his son Chris was able to take him for a memorable cruise!

Tom is survived by his children: Denise (Kevin) Dunn, Chris (Lisa) McBride, Amy McBride and Cindy (Justin) Stephenson; his grandchildren: Danielle, Tate, Celeste, Alex, Trey, Riley, Jarod, Jenna, Kassi and Presley; his great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Pajia, Liam, Landon and Avianna; his brothers, Steve (Sue) McBride and Jim McBride; his dear cousin, Pat (Jim) Calkins and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Maureen Cantalupo; his parents, John and Ruth McBride; and sister-in-law, Janice McBride.

A Memorial Service will take place October 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Tom can be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
