Marilyn J Faust

Marilyn J Faust: 1938 – 2024

Marilyn Faust, 86, of Cheyenne passed at Fairacres Manor with her family at her side.

She was born May 5, 1938, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Mike and Marie Bissey. She was raised in Cheyenne where she graduated from Central High School.

She worked for Grier Furniture, making custom drapery and then LCSD #1.

She loved to craft, sew and cook. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church as long as she was physically able. She was part of the historical committee at the church and enjoyed the rich history of the church. She volunteered at meals on wheels after she retired both in the kitchen preparing meals and for the annual garage sale. She was also a member of the Laramie County Homemakers Lazy Daisies Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband George Faust.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, at 10 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky.


Donna Ethel Renteria: 1931 – 2024

Donna Ethel Renteria, 92, of Cheyenne, died on November 27, 2024 in Cheyenne.

She was born on December 30, 1931 in Cheyenne. 

Donna worked for Harold Holmes Auction 20 years in summers, Sambos, Arts Truck Stop, Crossroads Cafe, Downtowner, Taco John’s, Wildlife Cafe, Gina and the Hiway Cafe. 

Some of the different places she lived were Cheyenne, Wyoming; Laramie, Wyoming; Baggs, Wyoming; Dupree, South Dakota; Pine Ridge, South Dakota; Santiago, Chile; Coulee Dam, Washington; and Pocatello, Idaho. 

She enjoyed making crafts, playing bingo, going to garage sales and having garage sales. She enjoyed helping family and friends. The best enjoyment was being with family. 

She is survived by her children: Cathy Wigington (Bill), Linda Mahaney (Mike), Ken Renteria (Camille), and Terri Schlensker; her sister, Mary Mosier; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. 

Services will be Monday, December 9, 10 a.m., at Wiedersphan-Radomsky Chapel with burial to follow in Beth El Cemetery.


Boyd Daniels Woodland: 1939 – 2024

Boyd Daniels Woodland (Woody), 85, of Cheyenne, passed away on November 28, 2024 at the Aspen Wind Assisted Living & Memory Care Center in Cheyenne. He was born on February 14, 1939 in Grace, Idaho. He was the son of the late Thomas Frederick Woodland and Emma Elizabeth Daniels Woodland.

 Boyd grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and joined the US Air Force at the age of 17. During his 22+ years in the Air Force his key duty stations were Cheyenne, WY, Panama Canal Zone, Panama, US Air Force Academy, Colorado, Omaha, Nebraska, and Sembach, Germany. His primary duty assignments were as a Vehicle Operator and later a Vehicle Operations Supervisor. He retired as a Master Sargent. Boyd worked for more than 30 years with the Union Pacific Railroad as a Switchman/Brakeman, Conductor and eventually as a Locomotive Engineer. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served his church in multiple capacities over the years. Boyd loved traveling this country with his family to visit both family and friends made throughout the years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be remembered by many for his kindness, generosity and good humor.

 Boyd is survived by his son, James Woodland; his daughter, Valerie Winters and her husband, Del; seven grandchildren: Kayla Jones and her husband, Garrett, Cody Woodland and his wife, Alexandra, Kassidy Miranda and her husband, Francisco, Cortney Woodland, Karlie Woodland, Shelby Winters and her fiancé, Kevin, and Noah Winters; five great-grandchildren: Reed, Blaine, Landon, Adalynn, and Tanner; his sisters: Clea-Joyce Orton, Barbara Herrick and Wanda Holmes; his brother, Cyril Woodland; his sister-in-law, Rita Newby; and his brother-in-law, Chadd Newby; and other extended family and friends.  

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodland was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Newby Woodland in May of this year. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Angell and Betty Lefave; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Newby. 

Boyd will be buried with his wife Ellen at the Cheyenne National Cemetery, 8611 Hildreth Rd. Cheyenne, WY 82009 on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to be held following the burial at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 309 Western Hills Blvd Cheyenne, WY. 82009-3437.
