Jolene Brinton: 1937 – 2024
Anita Jolene Brinton (Stanley), affectionately known as Jolene, passed away peacefully on December 27, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on July 25, 1937, in Shubert, Nebraska, Jolene lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Jolene married Robert Brinton in August of 1956 in Fort Collins, Colorado, and together they built a family, and a life filled with cherished memories. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Jolene’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, creating lasting memories, and sharing her love. She enjoyed tending to her rose garden, time at the family cabin and lake, travelling, football, and visits to the casino.
Jolene is survived by daughter, Janice Midgley (Amos); grandchildren: Brady Brinton (Tiffany), Heather Cowley; great grandchildren: Jaidyn and Hagen Cowley, Caitlyn and Alyson Jones; sister, Dawn Arnold (Len); many beloved friends; an extended family, and her very best friend, Kathleen Hoover, who will all continue to honor her memory. Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Loreen Stanley; husband, Robert; two sons, Jeffrey and Jamie Brinton; and three brothers.
Jolene’s bright spirit and loving heart will forever inspire those who knew her.
A memorial service will be at Grace United Methodist church on January 17 at 11 a.m., 2950 Spruce Dr, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
Dale Edward Kipple: 1936 – 2024
Dale Kipple, 89, of Cheyenne Wyoming passed away January 5, 2025, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 4, 1936, in Akron, Ohio to Dale and Marie Kipple.
Dale served in the United States Air Force retiring after 24 years as a SMSgt. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for AccuWeather and then the United States Postal Service. Dale stayed active in his church and loved watching sports. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Marie Kipple; wife, Pearl Kipple; daughter, Loretta Garcia; and son, William Teeple.
Dale is survived by his kids: Cathy Meister, Carol (Bob) Porth, Mike (Dorothy) Teeple, and Ron Kipple; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is Wednesday, January 15, at 12:30 p.m., which will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment and military honors will follow at Cheyenne National Cemetery.
MaryAnn Howe: 1956 – 2024
Mary Ann Howe (Babe), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on May 3, 1956, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to Andrew and Helen Babjak. She was the younger sister of Mary Ellen (Larry) Bates, Robert (Pat) Babjak, and William (Bette) Babjak.
Mary Ann was a loving wife to her husband, Bruce Howe and a devoted mother to her children: James (Leah) Selvage and Jeremy (Bailey) Selvage as well as bonus sons: James (Kelsie) Andrews and Devlin (Tina) Howe. She was also an extraordinary grandmother to her seven grandsons: Austin, Andrew, Alexander, Ashton, Calin, Jack, and Landon; and her two bonus grandsons, Bryce and Cody. Her grandchildren brought immense joy and pride to her life.
In addition to her love for family, Mary Ann had a passion for cooking. She took great joy in preparing meals for her loved ones, often experimenting with new recipes and creating delicious dishes that brought everyone together. Her kitchen was a place where her warmth and care truly shined, and her meals were always made with love. Mary Ann also loved traveling and exploring new places with family, always looking forward to the next adventure and making new memories. When not cooking or traveling you could find her sunning on her back deck with her dogs Roofus, Andi, and Adrian.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann touched many hearts with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her dedication to her loved ones, combined with her gentle nature, made her a true inspiration to all who knew her.
Mary Ann’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, who will always remember her warmth, her strength, and her endless love. She will be greatly missed but forever cherished.
Fern D. Salas: 1932 – 2024
Fern D. Salas (Baker), a beloved member of her community and family, passed away on January 6, 2025, in Great Falls, Montana at her daughter’s home, at the age of 92. Born on September 5, 1932, in Leon, Iowa, Fern lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.
Fern is remembered for her unwavering commitment to her career as a laundry attendant at the hospital, where her hard work and attention to detail were appreciated by many. She was also a long-time member of Cheyenne Brethren Church, where she fostered friendships and connections that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her faith was central to her identity and influenced all that she did.
In addition to her professional contributions, Fern was a vibrant part of her community, participating in a bowling league that showcased her competitive spirit and love for fun. She cherished her time spent with family, which was her greatest joy, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.
Fern is survived by her four children: Vickie Hahn (Chris), Harold Ray (Char), Donna Johnson, and Roy Ray (Paula), along with her stepson Pete Salas Jr. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Salas, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years; and her parents, Stephen Lawrence Baker and Victoria Ann Baker. Fern’s warm spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
Pat J Vialpando: 1936 – 2024
Patricio (Pat) Vialpando (88) passed away in Cheyenne on January 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 17, 1936, in Chama, Colorado, to Felix and Josephine Vialpando. Pat married Vangie Bernal (1959-1961). In May of 1996, he married Jo Ann M. Coppedge.
Pat was raised in Laramie, Wyoming. He worked at Western Union for 17 years, then became General Manager for the Two Bar Bowling Center in Cheyenne. After retiring, he continued working part time with the State for 15 years.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Amos and Jake. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jo Ann; sister, Jo Ann Weicham; brother, Jimmy; daughter, Vickie Wheatlake Kelly; step-daughters: Shawna Zautcke, Jennifer Bowman, and Stacie Peck. He is loved by his two grandchildren, Patrick and Burton Wheatlake; step-grandchildren: Ann Marie Lopez, Sara Spiker, Carson Peck, Josh Edgar, Franklin and Wyatt Zautcke , and Alexis Robbins, Autumn, Dalton Williams, Grace Bowman; and one great-grandchild; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Pat served on the Board of Cheyenne Federal Credit Union and the Bank Board of First Interstate Bank for over 10 years. Pat was extremely active and loved to play golf, fish and run. Pat’s passion for helping others was quite evident in all of the community service he was involved in, but his tireless and impassioned devotion, was to the friends and families of Bill W.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
