Alan Nelson

Alan Nelson: 1947 – 2025

Alan Nelson was reunited with his late wife of 42 years on January 16, 2025. 

He was born in Stafford County, Kansas on October 24, 1947, to Paul and Neva Nelson; he was an only child.

In his younger days, Alan spent many years working overseas for an oil exploration company and retired as a copier engineer. 

He was an amazing husband, who cared for his wife, day in and day out for several years as she battled a chronic illness. 

He had a passion for airplanes, trains, motorcycles, and shooting sports. You could usually find him at the shooting range, at the sand dunes or tinkering with his model airplanes and trains.

He and his wife, Ann spent many years refereeing at the national matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. He was a life member of the NRA, Wyoming State Shooting Association and a Life member of the Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol Club.

He is survived by his sons: Everett (Lacey) Nelson, Ernest (Lisa) Nelson; and his five grandchildren: Letha, Vance, Everett Jr, Dylan and Landon. 

He will be dearly missed by his family and all of his lifelong friends. 

There will be an interment on Wednesday Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.


Dave Edward Sencabaugh: 1958 – 2025

David E. Sencabaugh, 64, of Cheyenne, passed away in Burns, Wyoming on April 7, 2023 surrounded by his loving friends. Dave was born April 26, 1958 in Laramie, Wyoming to Ed Sencabaugh and June Hassinger.

He loved hunting, fishing, camping, anything outdoors. Every job he had was outdoors. He loved his friends with a passion and loyalty that defined who Dave was.

Dave was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the AmVets.

He is survived by his sister, Becky (Rudy) Nesvik of Cheyenne and brother, Steve Sencabaugh of Laramie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Joann Sencabaugh.

Services will be held this Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, 1900 East 19th, Cheyenne.

Dave’s friends will have a celebration of his life at The Tumbleweed Bar that afternoon.


Gary W. Snyder: 1948 – 2025

Gary Snyder passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, January 16, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. He was a resident of Cheyenne, Wyoming at the time of death.

Gary was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Murile Snyder and Evelyn June Powers. He joined the Army in September of 1967 and was stationed in Saigon during the Vietnam War. After the military he moved to Laramie, Wyoming and worked on a ranch for many years. There he met Debra Wilson and got married in 1974. After ranching he joined the truck driver’s union and pursued life in Cheyenne, Wyoming. 

Gary enjoyed riding horses, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He never complained he just went with the flow of things. He enjoyed visiting with people and harassing them. He always was willing to help others. Gary devoted his life to faith and family. 

Gary is preceded in death by both parents, Murile “PUG” Snyder and Evelyn June Snyder; as well as his brother, Daniel Snyder.

Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra Snyder; their son, Robert Snyder and spouse, Michele Ferguson Lowhorn; son, Gary Snyder Jr. his wife, Khory Snyder; and daughter, Tonnie Curby, husband, Wesley Curby; and eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 


Clarence Rosendo Torres: 1930 – 2025

Clarence was born September 13, 1930 in Mora, New Mexico, and passed away surrounded by his family on January 20, 2025 at the age of 94.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Delores; and sons, Anthony and Randy; and daughter, Judy; brother, Leroy; grandchildren: Aja (Steve), Daniel (Alyx), Ashley, Taber and Angelina (Eric); several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Roseanna, who died as an infant; parents, Rosendo and Rosana Torres; brothers: Delfino, Christobal, Luis, Pat, and Joe; sisters: Lucy, Lilia, Ida and Helen; his son-in-law, Lloyd and daughter in-law, Cathy; his in-laws, Jose and Mercedes Roybal; and several beloved sisters and brothers-in-law.

After moving to Wyoming, he married Delores Maria Roybal, and they were married for 74 years. Clarence enlisted into the military where he served in the Army and fought bravely for his country during the Korean War. He did not talk much about his time during the war, other than to say what he saw and experienced was unimaginable.

Clarence worked many more years and retired from the state of Wyoming. He loved talking and watching sports, building and fixing things, and he was always on hand to give any assistance and support in good and hard times. He loved fishing, taking care of his yard, and in his earlier days he loved baking. He will be loved and missed by his family and everyone who ever knew him.

Special thanks to the staff of Davis Hospice, the Cheyenne VA CRMC, especially all his nurses and doctors, along with family members who have shown so much compassion during a very difficult time and continue to do so.
