Gary Lewis Tisher: 1949 – 2025
Gary Lewis Tisher was born April 5, 1949 to Lewis and Agnes (Rosten) Tisher in Britton, South Dakota, and passed away on February 2, 2025 at his home in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Gary grew up outside Britton. His days were busy on the farm, raising cattle and chickens and tending to the crops. In addition to 4-H and church activities, he played football in high school. After graduation, he moved to Arizona and worked on hereford cattle at John Wayne’s ranch.
Gary married his high school sweetheart, Joan Ellenson, on September 30, 1972, in Britton. To this marriage, two sons were born. The family lived in North Dakota and Arizona as Gary worked various farming and ranching jobs, before moving to Cheyenne. There, Gary worked at the Wyoming Hereford Ranch, Consolidated Freightways, Coastal Chemical, and for the State of Wyoming.
Gary was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers. When the weather grew cold, he could be found inside watching football or basketball. All year round, he greatly enjoyed visiting with his neighbors, and working together with them on different projects. He valued his neighbors, as well as being a good neighbor.
Gary was a life-long Lutheran. He showed great pride in the achievements and activities of his sons and grandchildren. Babies and young children brought him a lot of joy. He usually earned a smile from them after making eye contact, smiling, and wiggling his finger at them.
He is survived by Joan, his wife of 52 years; sons , Robert (Lisa) of Thornton, Colorado, and Jeff (Deb) of Cheyenne; grandchildren: Tim (Kerrey) Tisher of Cheyenne, Sam (Travis) Jones of Rapid City, South Dakota, Laura Tisher of Thornton, and Molly Tisher of Thornton; four great-grandchildren; and brothers: Wendall (Sharon) Tisher, Wayne (Kelly) Tisher, and Jim (Carmen) Tisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his In-laws, Don and Ruth Ellenson; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Ellenson and Verna Ellenson.

Lanney D Ross: 1943 – 2025
Lanney D . Ross, known also as LD, was born on December 21, 1943, in Eugene, Oregon. He passed away on February 4, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, leaving behind a legacy marked by dedication and versatility.
Throughout his career, Lanney was a skilled machinist and a dedicated industrial electrician for fifty years. His extensive experience also extended to gunsmithing, showcasing his remarkable ability to fix or build just about anything. Lanney’s work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every project he undertook, and he took great pride in being able to tackle even the most complex challenges.
Lanney pursued his education with determination, attending two years of college. This foundation supported his vast technical skills and contributed to his impressive accomplishments throughout his career. Among his proudest achievements was his belief that he could accomplish anything he set his mind to, an ethos that inspired both his family and friends.
In his leisure time, Lanney enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including shooting, motorcycles, and woodworking. These interests not only reflected his hands-on nature but also allowed him to connect with others who shared similar passions.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Ross; his daughters, Shaunna Hill and CiCi Ross; as well as his stepson, Robert Darling; and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Darling. Lanney’s family will forever cherish the memories of his support and love.
Lanney D Ross will be remembered as a multifaceted individual whose spirit of innovation and passion for life touched the hearts of many. His legacy of hard work and determination will continue to inspire those who knew him.
