Wyoming Outdoor Council hosting ‘Beers & Bills’ event at Black Tooth Brewing

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Outdoor Council is hosting a “Beers & Bills” event at Black Tooth Brewing in Cheyenne on Jan. 30.

That’s according to a release from the council, which states that the event will happen live at the brewery and virtually via Zoom.

According to the release, the council will “discuss legislative issues impacting Wyoming’s wildlife, water, lands, energy, and communities. The event will feature expert speakers who will discuss conservation-related issues and bills being considered by the Wyoming State Legislature.”

The specific issues that will be discussed include:

  • Nuclear waste storage
  • Public Lands Transfer
  • Limited Mining Operations and State Lands leasing
  • Small-scale rooftop solar

The event will feature a panel of renowned speakers, including Shannon Anderson of Solar United Neighbors; conservation consultant Steff Kessler of Lander; Barry Reiswig of Wyoming Backcountry Horsemen; and Carloyn Griffith of the Casper Mountain Preservation Alliance. Alec Underwood, the program director for the Wyoming Outdoor Council, will moderate the panel.

“This engaging, informative event is an informal opportunity for the public, legislators, and media to hear from experts on various legislative topics impacting conservation in Wyoming,” the release states. “Following the panel, there will be time to speak to panelists, WOC staffers, and other community members. WOC will supply light appetizers and refreshments for attendees.”

The event is happening Thursday, Jan. 30 at Black Tooth Brewing in Cheyenne, located at 520 W. 19th St. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the discussion begins at 5:30. The livestream of the panel discussion will also begin at 5:30. Tickets are free of charge, but organizers ask that attendees RSVP here for either in-person attendance or for access to the Zoom link.
