Snow chances, cool weather continue this week for Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cool and unsettled weather is expected in Cheyenne this week, along with strong winds throughout southeast Wyoming.

Those winds are expected to kick up this afternoon, prompting high wind watches and warnings in the region’s wind corridors. Snow chances are sprinkled throughout an otherwise seasonally warm week for Cheyenne.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has forecast a high of 38 today with a 40% chance for snow. Skies will be partly sunny, and winds are expected from the west-southwest at 15 mph. Those winds should continue throughout the night as the low falls to around 18. There’s a 20% chance for snow before 11 p.m. Skies will be partly cloudy otherwise.

Winds will pick up Tuesday from the south-southwest to 10–20 mph with gusts of up to 30 mph possible. The forecast high is 41 degrees, falling to 23 for the overnight low. Skies overnight will be partly cloudy, leading to a mostly sunny Wednesday when the high returns to 49. A 20% chance for snow is forecast Wednesday, as is a low of 25.

Snow chances pick up to 60% Thursday despite a high of 43, and snow chances continue through the night and into Friday. Thursday’s low should be near 21, according to the forecast. Friday’s high will be near 36.

Sunnier and drier weather is expected over the weekend, with temps rebounding to the low 50s by Sunday.
