CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Residents in the South Laramie Range woke up to dense fog Friday morning, with visibility dropping below a quarter of a mile. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has extended a dense fog advisory through noon due to persistent low visibility, which is also affecting parts of Laramie County.

As Friday progresses, a weak weather system is expected to enhance upslope flow, bringing snow from late Friday into Saturday. The Interstate 80 corridor from the South Laramie Range to Sidney will likely see snow accumulations of 1–3 inches. The forecast indicates that while northern areas might see less accumulation, the higher elevations could experience slick roads, especially late Friday night.

Following the weekend’s chilly weather, Cheyenne is set for a warming trend. Temperatures are predicted to climb significantly from Sunday through Thursday, offering a respite from the recent cold snap. This warming comes as a ridge builds in behind Sunday’s departing clipper shortwave, promising much milder days ahead.
