CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Northern Laramie Range should brace for additional snowfall as a winter weather advisory remains in effect for the area. According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, up to 8 inches of new snow could accumulate through Thursday.

Elsewhere in southeast Wyoming, scattered rain and snow showers are anticipated to continue across the area through Thursday evening. Minimal snow accumulation is expected.

A warming trend is forecast to take hold as the weekend approaches, promising above-normal temperatures for mid-May. Friday may see slightly warmer conditions, though chances for showers and thunderstorms persist, particularly west of the Interstate 25 corridor.

The weekend and next week will see an increase in temperatures, with highs likely reaching the high 60s to low 70s. This period will also feature isolated afternoon thunderstorms, which could include small hail.

Looking ahead, the region might face potential severe weather events next week as conditions align favorably. The region will get locked into a northwest flow that will have multiple shortwaves and vorticity lobes transversing through.
