CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne residents can expect warm and dry weather through Saturday. According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, temperatures on Friday could reach the low to mid-80s along and east of Interstate 25.

Windy conditions are also anticipated on Friday as a strong disturbance moves across the northern high plains. Wind gusts of 45–55 mph are expected in Arlington and Bordeaux. Some gusts may exceed 60 mph.

A high-pressure system will keep precipitation chances low through Saturday — a generally quiet forecast period ahead for southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska Panhandle. The warming trend will see temperatures rise significantly over the next few days.

By Saturday night, a longwave upper-level trough will bring relatively low atmospheric pressure to high altitudes over the Pacific Northwest, bringing scattered showers to southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. While widespread rain is not expected, the trough’s presence will shift the weather pattern.

On Monday, an advancing cold front will bring cooler temperatures and a 40%–60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. The cold front will drop temperatures by 10–15 degrees. Gusty winds are expected behind the front, but they should stay below high wind criteria.

The upper-level trough will continue to influence the region’s weather through Tuesday. Cooler temperatures will persist, with highs in the high 50s to mid-60s. A brief ridge developing on Wednesday will bring warmer temperatures, with highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s.

By Thursday, another upper-level trough is expected to move in from the Pacific Northwest, bringing more precipitation chances and cooler temperatures late in the day.

Residents should prepare for the warm and windy conditions on Friday and stay informed about changing weather patterns as the week progresses.
