CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne will see patchy frost this morning as temperatures dip between 30 and 36 degrees. Recently planted vegetation may need protection to prevent frost damage, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

Today will warm up with mostly sunny skies. Morning temperatures, 10–15 degrees below normal, will rise to highs in the 60s to mid-70s. Winds will pick up in the afternoon, especially west of the Laramie Range, with gusts reaching 30–40 mph.

Expect strong wind gusts of up to 60 mph in wind-prone areas on Thursday. A high wind watch is in effect. Increasing cloud cover, a cold front and possible precipitation will accompany these winds. Temperatures will be cooler, especially west of the Laramie Range.

Friday will start with breezy conditions, calming by midday. Another weather system will bring seasonal temperatures in the 60s to 70s, and more wind is expected. Showers and thunderstorms are likely into the weekend.

From Saturday night into Sunday morning, expect high chances of showers and thunderstorms as a stronger upper low moves through. Conditions will dry out by Sunday night and into Monday.
