CHEYENNE, Wyo. — High wind warnings remain in effect across southeast Wyoming until Wednesday afternoon. Wind gusts of 60–65 mph are expected, peaking overnight and early Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will soar by midweek, reaching the 80s and low 90s on Thursday and Friday. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne predicts a significant warming trend, with even higher temperatures in the Nebraska Panhandle on Friday.

On Saturday, Cheyenne will experience the warmest day of the week. However, cooler temperatures are expected Sunday and Monday. Afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will increase over the weekend.

The warm weather continues into Thursday and Friday, with highs potentially reaching the mid-90s. A cold front will move south from Montana on Friday afternoon, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the day. Meteorologists anticipate widespread precipitation across the region by Saturday evening.

Upcoming Weather Outlook

Friday night into Saturday will see a shortwave trough and associated cold front bring cooler temperatures. Surface high pressure over the northern Plains will produce upslope winds, increasing moisture levels and leading to scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially near the Colorado state line.

Sunday’s weather will feature ridging aloft, but west flow and moisture will continue to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms. Abundant cloud cover will keep temperatures in the 70s.

By Monday, northwest flow aloft will persist, resulting in scattered late-day showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be slightly warmer than Sunday with less cloud cover.

Tuesday will bring increased heights aloft and warmer temperatures. Although there will be a decrease in moisture, isolated late-day showers and thunderstorms remain possible.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions against high winds and potential thunderstorms.
