Cheyenne to see warm weather with midweek storms expected

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a dense fog advisory for the southern Laramie Range and adjacent foothills, including the Interstate 80 Summit. The advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Dense fog with visibilities as low as an eighth of a mile is expected to impact the area.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected east of the Laramie Range starting this afternoon. The storms may become strong to severe, with hail, strong winds and possibly an isolated tornado. The best chance for severe weather will be between 2 and 6 p.m.

Temps will reach the 80s today, with temperatures near 90 degrees in the Platte River Valley. The warm conditions will continue into Tuesday, with little change in daytime highs.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mainly dry and warm. Highs will range from the mid-80s to mid-90s on Wednesday. Cooler temperatures and increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms are expected for Friday and Saturday. Sunday will bring a warming trend with decreasing precipitation chances.
