CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne will experience dense fog along portions of Interstate 80 this morning, reducing visibility for drivers. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m. for parts of Laramie, Niobrara, Goshen and Carbon counties, as well as various counties in Nebraska.
This afternoon, moisture will return to the region, leading to scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could produce torrential rainfall, gusty winds and isolated large hail. The strongest storms are expected between noon and 2 p.m., with the highest risk in areas stretching from Laramie to Glendo and Bridgeport.
The active weather pattern will continue into Tuesday, with moisture levels remaining high. This will create conditions for more thunderstorms, bringing another round of heavy rainfall. While the hail threat may decrease slightly on Tuesday, strong winds remain a concern.
Looking ahead, the weather will stay active through the middle of the week as a broad upper-level trough moves through the central Rockies. Widespread thunderstorms are expected on Wednesday, persisting into Thursday morning. A slight decrease in storm activity is possible from Friday through Sunday, but isolated showers and thunderstorms will still be possible. Temperatures will start slightly below normal, with highs mainly in the 80s by the weekend.
