CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Scattered thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are forecast in Cheyenne for the next few days, with a risk of isolated strong to severe storms. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reports that a persistent monsoonal pattern will drive daily showers and storms through Friday. While severe weather chances are low, some storms could bring hail due to high instability.

Today, Cheyenne is expected to reach the 90s along and east of Interstate 25 despite the storms, with cooler highs likely later in the week. Increased moisture will support rain-heavy thunderstorms, with rainfall amounts well above normal. By the weekend, this pattern could weaken as a Pacific low shifts toward the northwest, reducing moisture and storm chances by Sunday. Temperatures should also dip into the low 80s by Sunday and Monday.

Conditions next week are expected to be drier, with warming temperatures as a blocking pattern erodes. Fire weather concerns could return by midweek as winds increase and humidity decreases.
