CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne will experience cooler temperatures today, with highs near average for mid-September. After a chilly morning, expect a mostly sunny day. Winds will remain breezy, leading to elevated fire weather concerns, especially west of the Laramie Range. A fire weather watch is in effect for Saturday.

Tonight will bring clear skies and another chilly evening. Saturday, the region could see isolated storms as a weak system passes through, but the atmosphere will likely remain too dry for significant rainfall. Winds will increase again, elevating fire weather risks.

A warming trend will take hold Sunday, with highs expected to be 5–10 degrees above normal. The week ahead may bring a mix of dry conditions, isolated storms and cooler temperatures as another system approaches from the west.
