Sunny Monday, rainy Tuesday expected to start coming week

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne predicts that Cheyenne-area residents will be able to start the coming week with some clear Monday skies before a soggy Tuesday.

Monday is likely to be mostly sunny with minimal cloud coverage and a high temperature near 82 degrees. Moderate west winds could reach roughly 15 mph. At night, temperatures can be expected to fall to a low of about 50 degrees.

On Tuesday, the NWS in Cheyenne reports that clouds should move in, bringing precipitation with them. The NWS in Cheyenne calls for a 60% likelihood of showers and possibly a thunderstorm later in the afternoon. The day should still be a warm one, with a high temperature near 80 degrees in the forecast. Winds could gust as strong as 30 mph.

The chance of scattered showers and storms will continue into the night, lasting until about 9 p.m. After sundown, temps will likely fall to a low of roughly 44 degrees.
