Cool temps, chance of rain in weekend forecast

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne-area residents can expect temperatures to take a dip this weekend as the official start of fall draws closer.

On Saturday, locals are likely to see mostly sunny skies, but with increasing cloud coverage as the day goes on. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne predicts the area will have a high temperature near 63 degrees. Meanwhile, the day is likely to be blustery, with winds reaching speeds of 15–20 mph and gusting at up to 30 mph.

At night, the NWS in Cheyenne calls for a 40% chance of showers, mainly after 3 a.m. Otherwise, the night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 39 degrees.

Sunday’s forecast includes a 30% chance of showers before noon, followed by the possibility of light precipitation throughout much of the rest of the day. The NWS in Cheyenne reports a high temperature of just 56 degrees is likely.

Sunday night should be mostly clear, with a low of about 36 degrees in the forecast.
