CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne residents can expect warm and dry conditions for the next few days as above-average temperatures settle over southeast Wyoming.

Today will bring seasonable weather, with afternoon highs reaching the 70s as mid-level clouds clear by midday. Dry conditions are expected to persist, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

Starting Wednesday, temperatures will climb into the 80s, with Thursday seeing highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. These temperatures could rival record highs for late September, especially east of the Laramie Range.

Fire weather concerns remain in play due to the combination of warm temperatures, dry conditions and down-sloping winds. Winds are expected to gust between 25 and 35 mph Thursday afternoon. Relative humidity levels will drop below 15%, particularly in the Laramie Range.

By the weekend, temperatures will stay in the low to mid-80s, though fire weather threats may persist with dry air and low humidity. Colder temperatures are expected early next week as an upper-level system approaches.
