Cold front to break into Cheyenne in coming week

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Chilly autumn temperatures are finally expected to greet southeast Wyoming this week.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reports that Wyoming’s capital city will experience modest temperatures in the 60s and 70s for the latter half of the week. However, temperatures will drop into the 50s by Friday and the weekend.

“A strong cold front will bring much cooler temperatures Friday and Saturday along with chances for rain and high-elevation snow showers,” the NWS in Cheyenne states in its forecast discussion.

Skies will be clear Monday through Wednesday. Meanwhile, some clouds will set in Thursday and Friday followed by chance of showers.

The highs and lows over the next several days are as follows:

  • Monday: High of 77, low of 40
  • Tuesday: High of 65, low of 37
  • Wednesday: High of 75, low of 44
  • Thursday: High of 70, low of 38
  • Friday: High of 56, low of 29
