CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Light snow showers will clear out by midday today in southeast Wyoming. Afterward, Cheyenne will enjoy a short-term warmup, offering residents a break with highs nearing 52 today under sunny skies and around 60 tomorrow. Winds will be mild, shifting to the south at 10–15 mph this afternoon and easing tonight.

This weekend, temperatures will drop again, starting Sunday as a cold front approaches, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. Sunday’s highs will range from the upper 30s to low 40s west of the Laramie Range. Areas east may reach into the low 50s before the cold front arrives in the evening.

Snow may fall in Cheyenne’s higher, western areas on Sunday, with potential light accumulations around the Interstate 80 Summit. Temperatures will decrease through Monday as snow and colder air settle over the area. Expect daytime highs only in the 30s and 40s on Monday, with winds shifting to the north. Further snow could reach Cheyenne by Monday night, especially in areas with favorable upslope conditions.

By Tuesday, a potential high-wind event may develop along I-80 and other wind-prone corridors, bringing gusts of up to 55 mph in some areas and potentially enhancing temperatures east of the Laramie Range.

Colder overnight lows are anticipated midweek, with temperatures dropping into the teens and single digits west of the Laramie Range. Stay tuned as forecasts evolve for this active weather pattern in the coming days.
