CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a high wind warning in effect for the Cheyenne area until 2 p.m. Tuesday. West winds are expected to increase to 30–40 mph this morning, with gusts potentially reaching 60 mph. The strongest winds are forecast for midday as weather systems intensify across the region.

Today will be sunny and windy, with a high near 45. Winds will reach 20–30 mph, increasing to 30–40 mph in the morning and gusting as high as 55 mph. Travelers in light, high-profile vehicles should be cautious, as strong crosswinds are likely to impact driving conditions on east–west routes in Laramie and Platte counties.

Tonight, there’s a 40% chance of snow showers, with a low around 20. Winds will shift to the west-northwest at 15–20 mph, with gusts of up to 30 mph. These conditions will bring blustery weather to the area, and roadways may be slick in spots.

Wednesday’s forecast includes a 30% chance of snow showers, mainly before 11 a.m. The high will hover near 30, with north winds at 15–20 mph, gusting at up to 30 mph. Snow showers are expected to taper off in the afternoon, but temperatures will drop to around 15 Wednesday night.
