CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Southeast Wyoming could see snow showers and breezy conditions on Saturday, with high winds possible into Sunday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, a cold front moved through the area early Saturday, bringing gusts of up to 30 mph in many places.

Areas west of the Laramie Range, including the Interstate 80 corridor between Laramie and Rawlins, face a risk of snow squalls Saturday afternoon. These squalls may cause low visibility and slick road conditions, but snowfall is not expected to accumulate in Cheyenne. However, the Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges could see a few inches of snow.

The NWS in Cheyenne issued a high wind watch for wind-prone areas, including Arlington, Elk Mountain and Bordeaux. Winds may reach 55–60 mph from late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon before easing. Breezy but dry conditions are expected to continue through Sunday evening.

The week ahead looks active, with another round of strong winds arriving Monday, accompanied by much colder temperatures and a chance for snow showers Monday afternoon and into Tuesday.
