CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Residents in Cheyenne and across southeast Wyoming can expect warm, breezy conditions today, with highs reaching the low 60s, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

Dry conditions and above-average temperatures will persist into Saturday, but fire weather concerns are elevated across parts of the region. A strong cold front arriving Sunday will bring cooler temperatures and a chance of snow to start the Thanksgiving week.

Friday will see mostly sunny skies east of the Laramie Range, while areas to the west experience increasing clouds and breezy southwest winds. Cheyenne’s forecast high of 62 will approach record levels for late November.

Elsewhere, temperatures will range from 52 in Baggs to 66 in Kimball. Winds will gust at up to 30 mph in the western parts of the region. Tonight’s lows will drop to the low 30s in Cheyenne, with most locations ranging from 23 (in Alliance) to 35 (in Wheatland) under mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday will remain warm and dry, with temperatures in Cheyenne reaching 61. However, fire weather risks will rise, particularly in Converse and Niobrara counties, due to low humidity and continued dry air. While wind gusts are not expected to align with the lowest humidity values east of the Laramie Range, fuels in the area remain dry enough to sustain fire concerns.

A strong cold front will push into southeast Wyoming early Sunday, bringing cooler temperatures and the potential for snow. The highest snow accumulations are expected in higher elevations, including the Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges.

Cheyenne and areas along the Interstate 80 corridor may see a mix of rain and snow by late Sunday, as temperatures drop significantly. Highs Sunday will struggle to climb out of the 40s, marking a sharp contrast to the mild weather of Friday and Saturday.

Dry conditions will dominate Monday and Tuesday before the next system potentially arrives midweek. The track of this system remains uncertain, but it could bring additional snow chances to the region Tuesday night into Wednesday. Thanksgiving Day is expected to remain mostly dry with near-normal temperatures.
