CHEYENNE, Wyo. — November brought Cheyenne mild temperatures and below-average snowfall, according to data from the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. While the month saw a few chilly days, particularly early on, overall conditions were close to seasonal norms.
The average temperature for November was 36.3 degrees, just slightly above the normal 36.1 degrees. The highest temperature reached was 63 degrees on Nov. 11 and 22, while the coldest reading was 12 degrees on Nov. 7. Temperatures fell below freezing on 27 days, slightly more than the normal of 24 days for November.
Precipitation was light, totaling 0.56 inches for the month, just under the normal of 0.61 inches. The heaviest rainfall occurred from Nov. 8 to Nov. 9, when 0.50 inches fell. Snowfall was also below average, with 4.1 inches recorded compared to the normal 7.5 inches. The most significant snow event brought 3.2 inches on Nov. 8 and 9, with a maximum snow depth of 3 inches on Nov. 9.
Cheyenne experienced brisk winds typical for the region. The average wind speed for the month was 11.6 mph, with the highest gust reaching 56 mph on Nov. 5.
